Author Topic: Blockland Multiple Languages  (Read 14648 times)

Yes but it's kind of incorrect. Also, "block land" translates roughly to "bloquear la tierra"
"to block the land"
wow did you come up with that yourself??

I know a little bit of German, but I'm still learning so it may be a bit off.

"Blockieren Erde" or "Blockieren Land"
It's a rough translation because I'm still trying to remember all the synonyms for different words.

Also, I hope you guys aren't using Google Translate to translate from English to other languages (other languages to English is just a bad, if not worse). Google Translate is terrible and at times it can be very inaccurate.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll fix it up once my mouse isn't being such a richard.

ブロックのランド would be a better name than ブロックランド

'land of blocks' sounds way better than 'stufftily done sound-out-the-words'

Kuutiomaa translates to Cubeland but it looks prettier than Suorakulmainensärmiömaa which isn't particularly grammatically correct but translates to Cuboidland which is more technically correct.

palikkamaa, perkele

question
did you have to look it up or did you come up with and type out "suorakulmainensärmiömaa" by yourself??
I'm Finnish.

Suorakulmainen särmiö = cuboid

palikkamaa, perkele
Silly me. I couldn't brain yesterday. Palikkamaa is what everyone would call Blockland if the name were to be translated since palikka = block. Kuutiomaa is just plain incorrect.

Changed a bunch of stu--

forget

EDIT: Changed. Would it be better if I started something on Google Drive or something where people can just edit? Then we can add extra translations for other in-game text

i disagree

there are a lot of games where the Japanese titles use English
(since you can read kana I'll just put it here)

Super Mario World [スーパーマリオワールド]
Super Smash Bros. [ニンテンドウオールスター!大乱闘スマッシュブラザーズ]
WarioWare [メイド イン ワリオ]
Sonic the Hedgehog [ソニック・ザ・ヘッジホッグ]
Kirby Super Star [星のカービィ スーパーデラックス]
Streets of Rage [ベア・ナックル]
Mega Man Legends [ロックマンDASH]
Street Fighter [ストリートファイター]
Clock Tower [クロックタワー]

And, in my opinion, ブロックのランド sounds worse since it has the extra syllable that isn't even necessary

Maybe I should add a poll to see which variation of Japanese Blockland people like more

Блоклэнд is more or less the correct translation, not sure why'd you put Блокланд

Changing it back toブロックランド with the advice of Char and my dad

Edit: Changed Japanese and added a poll.

What is that poll supposed to be about? Blockland doesn't support translations.

idk, in case someone decides to translate Blockland it's all there and will be a quick copy and paste operation or something

How do you plan on exporting all the strings in the game?

I'm not, like I said, just in case someone/Badspot wants to do it sometime.
