I start to wish that I'd never signed up for the AF. I remember that I have a duty, however, and decide to keep pushing. I still can't shake the feeling that I might've killed my family with a stray missile or a crashing bomber (OOC: Neither happened. He just knows they're dead. And he thinks he's somehow behind it.)

I am still anchored in my lonely section of sky, watching the battle to the west with my HUD. It appears the Nerverak are getting closer.

The contrails are still going high above, as transport after transport flies away. Some of the contrails beginning to age and unravel.

I start going after the tanks, dropping bombs and launching missiles at them. Nerverak stops moving forward and now is at a halt.

The last plane manages to take off despite heavy enemy fire and damage. It is leaking various liquids from various new holes provided courtesy of Nerverak. Despite managing to take off, it crashes shortly after in a huge fireball. Nerverak forces pull out of the base at full speed.

"Base evacuation complete, we lost a lot of good men howeve--" Blackwater's voice cuts to static.
A mushroom cloud blooms and becomes visible, the explosion of the same nature as the bombs dropped on Etral and the capital.
"Damn. We lost the airbase, our last line of defense," says one of the pilots.
The sound of Blackwater's headset being torn off and hitting the floor is audible through the helmets of the pilots. Cursing is heard, and then a moment later Blackwater puts the headset back on.

I get bored and start singing tunes I loved.

"We see the shadow that is falling from yo-"

I bright flash illuminates the roosterpit. I looked west, toward the base. There is another giant fireball. I watch in awe as the mushroom cloud consumes the base.

"No..." I trail off.

"No. No! NO! forget!"

"Blackwater, what do we do from here,"

There is silence for a moment.

"Hold position for right now. Will convey new orders as they become available,"

"I thought... I... retreat guys. Now. I know a place, just GO! I'll kill everyone here if I have to." I start leaping and killing planes and tanks left and right.

I lift up my suit's sleeve and show him my Yuktonanian Air Force roundel on my arm with a large 172 above it. "I served in the Belkan War."

I pause for a moment.

"We're just North of Yuktobania.. I was going to suggest we seek refuge there.. I just don't know how we'd be greeted. We need to make a descision quickly, Colonel. For all we know we could be next in line for loving commanding officers."

"Right." I walk back up the steps to the flight deck and seat myself. "What the hell are you doing?" Says the co-pilot as I turn the autopilot off. "We're going to Yuktobania.."

"Wh-.." He just throws his hands up and shakes his head.

"Such a selection of planes..." I say to a maintainence worker before punching in the face and kncoking him out. I hop in the nearest air-to-air, a Super Hornet.

I begin launch despite the orders from tower. On my way up I fire a missile into the tower, decomissioning it permanently.

"This is getting personal," I mutter and fly out in the direction of the fighting.

I think the tower was already destroyed due to the large bomb dropped on it. As well as the entire airbase. And all of those planes. But let's just say you are in a Super Hornet.

I see the planes leave as I keep destroying plane after plane, tank after tank in my raged state. I have killed more than 50 planes and tanks in this long one man army battle. My plane will be painted like an ace after this. If I survive.
