At this point I'm resigned to my fate. Either drafted as COs into the Yuktobanian Air Force or found and court-martialled for desertion. I don't say anything, of course.

I'll assist Gonira and Mikoyan if necessary.

"Holy hell, who's that idiot," I say to myself.

I watch my radar and see a plane heading south, IFF positive, but I can't tell what plane it is from the radar.

I also watch the hostile aircraft to the west. They are creeping closer to my position, but try are still at least 30 miles away. I contemplate my options.

"Blackwater, are there any airbases still in Cartelian hands?"

"Hmm, there might be two or three, let me see. We are still trying to decide where to send the transports. You can go anywhere you see fit, I'll find a place for you, give me another few minutes,"

I was content with the response. I also moved further east to evade Nerverak forces, putting another 40 miles between us.

I'll assist Gonira and Mikoyan if necessary.
Jacov Steele and Clay Perchinson, respectively

As the mushroom cloud rises, Ian and I sigh. "This is forgeted," I mumble.

I key my radio to Xavier as we change our heading and begin to follow the B-1. "Ochoa, here. We've been in the dark through most of this. What's the plan?"

"Blackwater here, still haven't found you a place yet. We have a tanker plane here. I'll give you it's location,"

He gave me the location of a KC-135 Stratotanker.

"Blackwater, who's the guy heading south?"

There was a few moments of silence.

"It appears to be the B-1B Lancer, piloted by Lt. Col. Perchinson,"

"Can you tell where he's headed?" I ask.

Another few moments of silence.

"Perhaps Yuktobania? Their closest notable city is Darina,"

"Clay's Yuktobanian."

"Interesting..."

There was about a  minute of silence as I flew for the tanker plane.

"Ochoa, here. We've been in the dark through most of this. What's the plan?"

"No clue. I've been talking with Blackwater. All he's given me so far is a tanker plane, but he's working on a place for me. The transports are heading west, but it wouldn't surprise me if they turned north and went for the Norte Islands. We don't have much territory left at all really. Come with me to the tanker plane. You wouldn't happen to be that guy who's flying the
same way as Clay is, are you?" I reply.

I think the tower was already destroyed due to the large bomb dropped on it. As well as the entire airbase. And all of those planes. But let's just say you are in a Super Hornet.
Thanks, I was kind of in the dark as to this whole thing.  The action is all assumed and weird.  Moving on.

As I watch the planes retreat, I keep fighting. I just keep fighting on as more and more Nerverak forces are destroyed.

cmon guys post plox. im too bored to let this die

A heavy accented voice comes onto the radio, "Unidentified aircraft, state your intentions or you will be shot down." 2 MiG-29s join up on our wings shortly after.

"This is Lieutenant Colonel Clay Perchinson of the Cartelian Air Force. We seek refuge from an attacking Neverak force. We have no payload."

Silence

"Turn heading 195, fly direct Darina, follow instructions from flight of 2 MiG-29s escorting you."

I look out to intimidating looking pilots, their visors down, and press the mic button.

"Heading one niner five, direct Darina."

The plane begins banking.

"Blackwater to all aircraft, Yuktobanian Prime Minister Seryozha Nikanor has just issued a sanction allowing provisional occupation of Darina International Airport by United Cartelian Air Force units. At this time, an emergency MAJCOM directive requires that all capable pilots proceed to Darina and await further instruction. A series KC-135 Stratotankers will be orbiting key points along the corridor to Yuktobania to assist with refueling."

"Blackwater, permission to use rest of ordinance and ammunition on enemy vehicles and infantry."

-snip-

I bank back toward Xavier and punch the afterburner. "Roger, let's hit the tanker. You sound like you need a friend."

I am no longer worried about being called out for desertion. At this point, it doesn't matter. What little of our government remains is no longer of any use to the country. I'm expecting the Nerverak to instate their own government the way Estovakia did back in the Anean Continental War.

I call into the Cartelian radio in my plane.

"It's no use fighting fellows.  No matter how many planes you destroy, it will not be enough.  And let me say, Flatpack, I am impressed with your flight.  Still, that flight will end."

I zip NNW and then loop back around to the east above the clouds.  I am trying to locate whatever Cartelian plane I can.
