Author Topic: Why RTB going be Shutdown?  (Read 86995 times)

Will Connect be turned off? When it actually worked, it was the only real good thing about RTB.

it was an old mod like RTB and TBM. it was during the alpha version of blockland but died off because it was never updated.

Seem legit.

yes, connect will be off. so basically guys, to find out what prolly will and wont work when RTB is down, just go play blockland on a PC with no internet.

Please tell me what we can do about updating add-ons now, I'm pretty sure some might conflict if someone has the outdated version of an add-on

I'm going to write an open source repository system for mod makers.
All you'll have to do is write something like
checkForUpdates("givenModID"); in your script.

Welp, see you later, Blockland.exe.

Guess I'll just be stuck with the forums.

No, RETURN TO BLOCKLAND, not blockland!

Everything apart from hosting will be turned off and cease to exist, not sure why this is so difficult to comprehend.

Just to clarify a few things, RTB development is over and as you can see it will cease to exist beyond March 1st. As it stands, I won't be playing any part in the future of Blockland's development either. This isn't a trick - I genuinely have no plans for Blockland or RTB.

I'll put together a tarball of all submitted add-ons at some point to make downloading everything easier.

RTB Hosting will continue to exist for the foreseeable future.
What if we payed you to keep it up, or payed somebody to keep it up? Would that work?

All that I want to say is that steam seemed to ruin a lot of gameplay from blockland.

To DDoSes  to hackers ,and a lot more stuff.

Can someone create an archive with everything from RTB2

RTB still has uses, for ID/username look up. also the add-on hosting service is pretty unique and is already well integrated with blockland. i don't see why it couldn't become a DLC for Blockland.

this will only affect the friends list and such and won't break the rtb server control right? i don't see why it wouldn't.
