how about

why the forget would a civilian need an AR15

there you go
Uhh maybe because its your constitutional right?

The actual intention the Founding Fathers had with the second amendment was for the civilians to have access to military grade equipment in case of the uprising of a tyrannical dictatorship because that was the only way they escaped the tyranny of the British government in the late 1700's.

just because its my right to go around calling people forgetheads doesnt mean i should

i hate the fact that whenever someone mentions gun control the first thing that comes to mind is "obamar is takin our guns!!!!"
anyone with common sense knows that this is not true

I'm pretty sure that adding more restrictions on people who legally own guns will not be followed by those who get them illegally in the first place
This. Basically, my POV on this matter is this: if you ban guns, how would the government collect them all? They couldn't. They would have to rely on people turning them in, which all the good, law abiding citizens would do, but few criminals would do. Then we'd be left with a bunch of armed criminals and unarmed citizens. Don't quote me on this, but I believe that in locations in the US were guns have been banned, crime rates have gone up. In places were guns are widely excepted and people often carry them around, crime rates are some of the lowest in the US. And then there's the matter of people who enjoy guns who wouldn't want them taken away.

calling people forgetheads=/=owning an AR-15.

The difference between calling someone a forgethead and owning a gun is that the gun can actually be used for self defense or sport.

Better throw away that smartphone.
Better not go out to eat at a restaurant.
Better not mow my lawn.
Just because I have the right to do these things doesn't mean I should...

The right to do something doesn't necessarily mean you should do it; you're right about that. But it doesn't necessarily mean you shouldn't either. After all, the right exists for some reason; your place is to simply exercise that right properly. As it is not against the law to own an AR15, and a civilian buys one with the intention of storing it in their room until someone breaks into their house, is it really a problem? Of course, your argument might be that they should choose a different gun - and to an extent, you may be right. They may not know what they're doing when purchasing a gun; they may just be going overboard. Maybe they should've gotten a 9mm or a shotgun - but a gun is a gun, and their intent with the gun is the same, regardless of the make and model. Just make sure you don't break into their house and you'll be ok.

What would be better than banning firearms altogether would simply be to help instruct citizens on how to properly use and care for their firearms so there aren't as many accidents.

This. In Alaska, pretty much everyone has a gun. The crime rate there is pretty forgetin low. You wanna rob another guy who probably, 80% chance, has a gun? No.

I thin I didn't clarify well - I don't care about assault rifles or anything, I just think it's silly that somone would "need" a 30 round mag for an automatic
Seems a bit unsafe IMO

I'm going to say shooting guns like black powder and .22s are pretty fun and fine by my standards

I think higher-up people like the president's gaurds should still have something "Low-Teir" like semiautomatics and citizens should have even "Lower-Teir" with things like .22s and single round pistols.

This is all imo so please don't bash me for it

But practically no civilian has those. It's a class 3 firearm and is pretty exclusive to military and law enforcement.

If I'm not mistaken my uncle has one, and I'm almost certain the Gritty Grapnel shooter had something similar

I think he's speaking specifically about the ammo capacity regardless if its fully automatic. Which is stupid.

the Gritty Grapnel shooter was toting around a semi automatic gun. You don't need much to kill a lot of people.

Gritty Grapnel shooter did not have an automatic weapon.

remind me why we should let people like you decide gun laws again?

A class 3 firearm follows one specific standard

Fully Automatic

IF you possess one of these you have either

Payed a whole lot of money and gone through a lot of training and licensing to own one

OR

you are police/military
