Author Topic: LugHost hosting -- Service shutting down (page 11)  (Read 16425 times)

Console described something about an auth fail, then it couldn't post to the master server (there was an error)
It was also unresponsive to console input
What exactly did the error say?
Also, could you join the server?

My personal server (running on linux, same setup as yours) has not been affected by auth server outages.

Also, was my blockland02 user disabled? :(

I'm not sure if I am too late, but I'd like to be a client. I would be grateful if you could get back to me whenever you can. Thanks

I don't know what it said, I fixed the problem before thinking I ought to post it here. Probably a good idea to post it here though.
I didn't try joining, although judging by how it wasn't on the master server and not responsive to input, I assume it wasn't accepting connections.

The service is planning on being launched, lol. Of course you can be a client.
If you're feeling adventurous you can sign up now, but I'm still doing testing, and it could be unstable. Or you could wait until the 28th for official release. Your choice.

Did it look like this?

Post to master server FAILED: Connection failure.  Retrying in 5 seconds...
Posting to master server
Connect error: 10055

If I get my job this week I'll inquire buying/testing.

Hey I think I had a similar error this morning!

Is this free? Or does it cost $8 a month?

$8 a month.

Oh that's a bit pricey, oh well. I can't be a client then. I really do think that you have an interesting service though.

What is your price point?

What is your price point?

I'm not sure, I doubt that I'd be willing to pay anything since I have nothing to host. If I did though - then my price point would be $2-5. I only host freebuilds, a pushbroom DM and occasionally Speedkart. I will be quite frank with you, I don't think that many people will be willing to pay $8 for a hosting service which hasn't been polished or perfected yet. Either way though, $8 is a little bit much for a hosting service when there are cheaper alternatives and a free one too. I hope that you take no offense to what I said, I'm just trying to provide my thoughts. I wish you luck with LugHost, and I hope that it is a success.

By the way how is the CPU doing with Lug-host?
And anything less than $5 is usually too little for a hosting service.

Perfectly fine. All the cpu usage appears to be distributed across all 8 cores, so a server reporting "10% CPU usage" would be using what I'm likening to 10 out of 800% CPU usage.
EDIT: and as such, I'm using less than 40%/800% at absolute peak.
