Instead of argue that you don't have a clue what you're talking about and have bad comprehension skills, I'm going to sum up what happened:

• I posted saying that I didn't think that being gay was a natural thing.
• After the very first negative post, I quickly added that I was confused and was not flaming or hating on anyone.
• So apparently, I'm running from a manhunt because my views are different while being flamed for confusion

Yeah, this is an Internet side effect.  I still think that it is totally irrational (before pulling things out of context, I mean that the whole "argument" against me is irrational).  Just like the atheists complaining about Christians trying to get their attention and revert their beliefs, I'm in the exact same place in this argument.  Exact.  I call hypocrisy.

No stuff lol. I've whacked off to guys since I was in seventh grade (not gay research, mostly just shirtless guys) but the thought of being gay never crossed my mind until I came to the realization I had a crush on my best friend.

People grow up being gay, no one actually chooses their loveuality.  And if you disagree with this, let me ask you something: Do you ever remember choosing between being loveually attracted to a girl or a man?

Yeah that's not how it works, I'm sure most of you agree, just letting those others know.  But everyone has a voice, and if you end up arguing with them and they just don't stop, it's best to give up because arguing with impossible people is just endless, it's better to have self-control and not respond.

HOORAY WORD TWISTING. I never said one specific stance was the only intelligent one.
I said that if you go into a debate about that you are uneducated about, and expecting people to take your word, when it directly contradicts the word of professional in the relevant field who have spent years researching the subject is not intelligent.
I see people do this on both sides of every issue.

If they're non-offensive why did you call him it? Regardless of how minor you may find it, you still called him it just to cause offence.

And people take the meaning of words differently.
I personally think being called scum is horrible, regardless of if you specify it as pond scum.
(and I'm not saying I don't call people scum, because I do when I intend to be horrible to them)

It is a big deal if you want people to understand and respect your position. This is the internet so I'm assuming you couldn't give a stuff about it anyway. Offensiveness is subjective. I didn't find it offensive but I am pointing out that just because you think you're above someone because of the beliefs you hold doesn't give you the right to call names rather than start a rational discussion. I have no doubt you don't even act in the crumby manner you do in a real situation involving defending your beliefs because it could end up getting you hurt.

The problem with this is that its entirely optional whether or not TO take his word for it. Thats what an opinion is. Something to consider or ignore. Because of his stance naturally you can only assume that he isn't researched and indeed hasn't studied. Why? because he's the opposition. Whether you take one side or the other its incredibly difficult to look at someone else through unbiased lenses. Even if they present an argument thats really good.

A little off topic: And speaking of which, just because someone has the label "scientist" or "professional" doesn't mean you need to lap up every last word they say as a fact. This is what has killed critical thinking. Nobody thinks beyond the teacher or the classroom anymore. A person can study for years and still be wrong.
