This is as uncomfortable as it looks.
I'd rather play with something that fits in both of my hands than something I can fit three of in one.

I've heard the 3DS has a really tiny thin 3D screen that cracks almost instantly from a light drop. You also get terrible eye strain and the 3D isn't that great.
idk what ur talkin bout cuz i drop my 3ds too many times and i never break it

i would agree that the 3d sucks, but i never use it.

I think it is, I'd only get it for Animal Crossing.

This reminds me. Anyone wanna help me trade evolve a few Pokemon? I need to get my Machamp yo

Doesn't the 3DS XL have better battery life?

I would go for the 3DS XL. I don't have one, but I'd prefer it over my 3DS.

The 3DS is nice, but the XL has a larger screen, which I also believe is brighter.
And as far as I'm aware (and I hope this is true) it doesn't have the one major pisstake of a design flaw that the 3DS has.

On the 3DS the lower screen is raised out of the actual body slightly by a millimetre or two. This is perfectly fine and there are no problems with this. The problem however arises from the fact that the bottom screen is smaller than the top screen.
When the 3DS is closed the rim of the raised lower-screen touches the upper-screen, some distance in from the outer side of the upper-screen.
Over time this causes the rim to rub and scratch the upper-screen. It starts off by leaving a little white line vertically on the upper-screen, which can be rubbed off. However, without screen protectors (and even these aren't perfect) the line will slowly be rubbed in to a full-blown scratch that can't be removed.
The upper screen is then permanently scratched in a very awkward location. It regularly gets in the way of the images on the screen (and the upper-screen is the focus for most games) and can sometimes distort the 3D effect of that screen.

If the 3DS XL is different and doesn't scratch the upper-screen then I would go for that, solely on the basis of this 3DS design flaw.
I love my 3DS to bits, but whoever designed it seriously screwed up on this part.

Don't get an XL, get the regular 3DS.

It's portable, cheaper, and has more accessories that work for it, if you're into that.

Unless you're just a no-life with extra cash laying around and you never go anywhere, I wouldn't recommend getting an XL.

I like the normal 3DS because it can fit in your pocket.
easier to get street passes, yo.

I have the XL, but really it depends.
Are you gonna lug this around? Thankfully I have some big pantaloons but still (I have my 3DS in my right pocket and my garage opener in my left, I lug it around because I broke my mp3 player but the 3DS has a sound system which is REALLY WEIRD TO CHANGE MUSIC WITH), it is such a flaw to have the lower screen scratching the god damn top screen because it sticks out a bit (although I heard this is a problem on the regular 3DS as well). If no, then buy a 2DS. If so, regular.
Do you care about resolution? If so buy the regular 3DS, some say that when they play they don't like how it's stretched. Also I think the XL uses old smart phone screens or something so there is a discoloration in some, the 2DS uses one big screen I think so there isn't that on those.
Do you want a longer battery life? XL and 2DS are good picks.
Do you care about the feel? The XL has kind of a cheap plastic feel, kind of like the blue and red DSlight. The regular is a bit sleek like the white DSlight.
Do you in the woods? Woods sell cheap at Wood price.

Get a 2DS, it cost less, can play 3DS games and DS games, and it doesn't have that 3D that messes up your eyes.

Street passes are hella-valuable in some games.
