i'm pissed because swapnote was like our only form of communication. nintendo thinks everyone who owns a 3ds is a 7 year old.
The stupidest thing about that is that they removed the functionality of it for you to send stuff over the internet to people who had to be your friends.
If you sent stuff over the internet it meant you had to have someone's Friend Code. They also had to have yours.
Therefore you BOTH had to agree to be friends and recieve mail from each other.
Yet people were sending inappropriate things to eachother (basically richard pics, since you can send photos [in 3D!]), and a number of parents complained, since their young children were receiving these pictures after giving away what basically constitutes as Contact Details on the 3DS. So, rather than making the service locked under parent-controls, they removed it entirely. I get that Nintendo is a family-focussed company, but they do hinder their own community.
Even with that new online 3DS/WiiU community thing, where you can join groups based on Nintendo Games and discuss them, you're not allowed to share your Friend Codes. I mean, it's not like that's a major aspect for online Nintendo Multiplayer.
What's the point in going on the Pokemon X/Y community page if you can't even add people to trade or have battles?
like make pokemon x and y free!
Only if you purchase a game and haven't already registered your 3DS and those games. Which a fair amount of people have. And only if you're in the US or Canada.
They did the same thing earlier for getting people to join the new Nintendo Network ID. There was a promotional game for signing up to it. But nothing if you were a regular 3DS user who had signed up when Network ID was started.
