Even if no more problems with the home-hosting happen, would you pay $4.00/month if HammerHost was still run at home?

Yes, home hosting will stabilize and become more reliable
No, I feel comfortable only with a remote dedicated server

Where from?
Hetzner. At last, a solution to my chicken-and-egg situation! If I get a VPS, I'm screwed because of CPU power. If I home-host, I am screwed because of reliability.

So when premium starts, will I have to start paying or can i continue to host for free?

Given the huge amount of RAM that the dedicated server would offer, I would first make it free + premium, where free users get only basic features.

I'm going to start TRYING to get it working for me.
I should just try not uploading all add-ons at once...

Why did you stop asking me for help?

I made a few references to the hosting service in my speedkart :P

I didn't ask for this, but thank you.

I have an important announcement for you today:
The network downtime during April was not the ISP's fault

The real cause was a malicious DDoS attack. Fortunately, Verizon actually mitigated the attack at their own expense. They did not reveal the size or number of IP addresses, but it was UDP-based. Verizon went above and beyond their responsibility by providing free DDoS protection for 10 days, until the hacker gave up.

Also, remember the high ping in early May? That happened because of the mitigation in place.
So what's the big idea? My home network's downtime was not because my residential ISP is low-quality. So stop believing HammerHost's connection is unreliable, because if it wasn't for the attacker, I would always have had 99%+ uptime.

I honestly still can't believe you still think a residential connection is more reliable than server hosting.

My home network's downtime was not because a residential ISP is low-quality. So stop believing HammerHost's connection is unreliable, because if it wasn't for the attacker, I would always have had 99.5% uptime.
What was the real uptime percentage?

No, I was saying that my home network is not as unreliable as a typical residential connection is. I edited the post to make that more clear now. Also, remember that most remote server ISP's do not provide free DDoS protection.

What was the real uptime percentage?
April had 87.72% uptime.

Anyway, I'm extremely glad I chose home-hosting. If I used a VPS in April, it would be the end of the hosting service.
