I already had the base game from a year or so ago, and if I hadn't recently bought the Game of the Year edition on Steam while it was dirt-cheap, I would take advantage of the deal.

But I've already completed the base-game on Xbox, am completing the base-game on PC on my own and have completed 2/4 DLC, and am playing a multiplayer career with a friend, where we have just completed a 3rd DLC.

Opinions on NFS: Rivals?

I was watching my dad play it for quite a while.

There was a noticeable amount of content in it, notably the cars, of course.

However,

It felt like an "arcadey" form of the previous NFS games.

An example being that driving under a gas station completetly repairs your car.

Or that there is no real story behind the missions you do aside from complete the race while avoiding cops.

I'd personally avoid it if I were you, but if you can outlook the flaws, it could potentially be a good game.

once GTA V releases on PC, I'll probably sell my Xbox 360. almost every game I've bought on it, I've re-purchased on steam and beat it (Skyrim, South Park: TSoT, Portal 2, GTA IV, etc.)

an arcadey form of an arcade racing game what

an arcadey form of an arcade racing game what

Even if, by your broad definition, the previous games were arcadey, then this one is rediculously arcadey.

by your broad definition
what? nfs hot pursuit is unbelievably arcadey. I haven't played any others in a while but I doubt they're much different

So you base a series of like more than 4-5 games off of one?

GG.

They are not like that at all, IMO.

its a pity that op called this a megathread yet he put little effort in copy and pasting those wiki links

well... yeah. I'm not gonna buy four to five more games just to be sure if I didn't like the first one I tried
I may actually just have a skewed idea of arcade racing games, idk. I've played Forza enough, that like, even Forza Horizon is arcadey to me

Forza is the only thing I'm really missing about having an xbox
but there are enough racing games for PC to make up for it, I guess
