I tried playing again and it seems that Japan is still underpowered

so i played my second mixed battle as a ju-87 again

after i had hit a single, player-controlled surface unit, i was suddenly being shot at and suddenly my plane teleported all around the map before teleporting into the ground and blowing up

so then i started playing as a panzer kpfw III ausf E and killed 2 player controlled enemy tanks before suddenly a IL-2 TRIES TO KAMIKAZE ME and suddenly my tank starts sliding quickly around the map, dodging the kamikaze'ing plane before blowing itself up.

only the heavy fighters have good turning times for their class, its just average all around otherwise
and kamikaze is a less than viable tactic in this game, people will only yell at you

Yeah when I started out playing the japs the guns were so weak that made me want to play ussr

Flying Japan gets harder every update. From insane BR's to ridiculous repair costs, there's no point in flying Japan in AB.

I can't imagine grinding the nation now after the changes to research. Luckily I grinded the entire tree ages ago.

If you insist on flying Japan (like me), I'd suggest grabbing an A6M2/M3 or the premium M5 if you do not have them, and fly with mates in realistic battles.

it used to have one, I guess that was just too much fun for us to handle
it was so much fun ramming people with the pontoon because I would fall off at no cost to me and they'd still die
I got called a hacker more than once for that

I just had a pretty good game in my Tiger I.

Still trying to get the hang of using it but I got 4 kills in SB.

Our team was cleaning up and moving towards the enemy spawn when a t-34 right around a corner scared the hell out of me.

I just noticed the OP said that there isn't gun convergence in Arcade mode, which is very very very very wrong.

As a joystick player, why the hell are bullets not hitting when I'm aiming in the aim assist thingie?

Because of server ping. Aim on the front edge of the aim assist thing. It's because the aim thingie is calculated clientside, but your bullet hits are calculated serverside.
Also check your weapons convergence and set it to something like 600 meters.
