Author Topic: DOOM Teaser  (Read 4716 times)

There is almost never gameplay in a teaser trailer you handicaps. That's why it's called a teaser.
That makes absolutely no sense at all. It's not teasing if it has nothing to 'tease' us with. It doesn't even offer any legitimate proof the game exists. It's just a half-related animation themed around the game.

Here is an example of what IS a teaser = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqF5Bs05elw

As you can see they actually TEASE us because there is actual game content and gameplay they show off. Meanwhile, this DOOM "teaser" is just a short movie-grade cgi animation that is not possibly part of the game at all. Ergo, the "teasy-ness" of the DOOM trailer is moot.

This game has been in development for 3 years (more, if you count all that time before they literally restarted from scratch in 2011). I'm not going to have very high hopes if all they have to show is a Cyberdemon.

Even though at the end of the video it literally says there's going to be a reveal at Quakecon 2014.

Nice reading bro. The video is essentially "its habbening and here is date we show everything!"

a teaser is made to let you know something is coming.

i'd rather know it's coming then just speculation

It let us know someone spent a month making a short movie-level animation. It gives us a date, but it doesn't actually prove to us anything about the actual game. Therefore this trailer is easily ignorable. For all we know the people who are supposedly making this supposed game could cancel several weeks ahead from now and the game never actually got off the ground. I'm not the slightest bit teased.

the mere fact you are aware that it is coming means you are teased. that's the point of a teaser.

a teaser leads into a trailer, and in watch dogs case 16 more trailers, and then the game. it's a wink.

IS THIS REAL LIFE HOLY FCJKS

i feel like doom's in a weird predicament, because if they make it a modern shooter it's going to ruin the doom charm... but if they really make it a doom game will the masses even buy it? doom's practically 20 years old at this point

It's more than 20 years old.

Masses will probably buy it based on name alone, even people who've never actually played Doom.

What if they made it a mixture of both, instead?
Like how Serious Sam did it or something.

It's more than 20 years old.

It *is* 20 years old.
Always been half a year behind me!

December 1993 :V

Id better get this one right, they always do (USUALLY.)
I'd like to see a QUAKE remake/sequel (No, the other QUAKEs don't count, they took an entirely different story from the original.)
