i understand perfectly

what i'm saying is, say i pick ganon and equip the warlock lunge which goes off MUCH faster then his default warlock punch, no one is going to know i have lunge equipped so they'd be ready for a punch, not the lunge, which could be abusable

a better example would be his flame choke replaced with the one that does damage as it goes, they'd be ready for a grab but instead just get hit a ton

But the surprise wears off once you spring it on them. Getting one surprise special off isn't going to change the course of a match most likely.

that's y i'm saying if someone uses a custom move they should have to tell everyone in the steam group thing

could win the match by pulling a trick like that and just keep doing it to everyone, ofc it only works once on someone but no one else would know

i personally disagree with the idea of sharing your set with the opponent
so i'm not going to say that it should be required unless it's something that mostly if not everyone else wants
since i personally don't even use customs
