defo

dr mario is better than mario solely cus his taunts are so forgetin great. every single one makes you look like you couldn't give a stuff. plus his pills break momentum so no more ness problems lol.

I love Dr.Mario but the fact that he is slower makes it harder to play with compared to normal Mario

Me and Maple have been playing like every other day
(and i win like 19/20 rounds we play)
It's gr8, my mario is unbeatable

idk why lucina is so much better than marth but she just is for some reason

beat 9.0 classic mode on my first try with her while i couldn't even do 8.0 without trying like 7 times with greninja
lucina has no tipper mechanic so it's easier to play as her since you dont have to worry about distance

HI I FOUND YOU ULTIMAMAX

what a surprise. the same name on reddit

if you want to git gud you should focus on one character and only one character. unless they have astronomically bad matchups (e.g ness vs rosalina, easiest recovery gimps ever) then you can have a secondary to cover those matchups, but otherwise, you should try to work through bad matchups instead of having 4-5 stuffty characters. you want one really good character. a main. at least this applies to the games i play, i assume it carries over

maining in super smash bros is lame. SSB is a party game, it's fun to play with buddies, if you're a tryhard who only plays one character you're not fun to fight.

im talking about competitive players (what i meant by "git gud")
if youre playing for fun or semi competitive just play whatever feels best
if you're competitive and your character has any depth whatsoever it's good to focus on them before trying to get a secondary

if you're playing to win, yeah you should definitely main a guy so you can get a better chance to win
if you're just playing for fun and don't want to be that guy just try to be decently good with all the characters

I have been trying Marth and Lucina. Do any of the Marth/Lucina mains in here have any tips for me?

if you don't want to deal with the tippers use lucina, though marth is stronger if you hit with the tip
that's it, if you're marth just keep a distance between you and the enemy so you can land more hits with the tip

no fun allowed, thanks camel.

Which directions lead into combos best?
usually fairs and dairs, if they're at high percent try a dair to nair and follow with a fsmash or special

Noted.
Which directions lead into combos best?
probably down throw
maybe forward throw at lower percents
if they're really heavy/fast falling then do up throw

you should probably try doing "tippers" with lucina anyway, for three reasons:
1. practice zoning
2. prep yourself to play marth (marth is the better character objectively, lucina isnt much different or better besides her sword's sweetspots)
3. swag

Holy stuff guys, I just landed a perfectly spaced forward smash as Marth. It's so powerful.
I have now decided to play Marth.

Thanks, I'll try those.

Out of curiosity, is there any advantage to Marth's bair over is fair? Or are they pretty much the same?
