are you serious? in lots of places (granted, not everywhere) women that try to do esports get unwanted attention
considering youre a male i dont think you have authority to say how women are treated in male-dominated spaces. how would you know?
i can agree that sometimes unwanted attention is given if you let the words "i'm a girl" leave your mouth when you're playing video games
i'm gonna be honest here and say that when i started playing video games that you could go online with, i usually called myself a guy because i didn't really want to be confronted with that shock and awe kind of stuff and etc that people get when they see some girl playing a video game with them (i was like 9-10 years old)
eventually i broke out of that shell and just told people 'bout me being a girl and most people are pretty fine with it
i just see myself as a gamer like everyone else is
things like society can have a small factor on women playing video games, as you could say it's not very... how do i say this...
it's not very
normal for women to play video games
i mean these days a lot more women probably play video games than before but the amount of women playing games is a joke compared to how many guys play video games
my steam friends list is almost entirely made up of dudes
my 3ds friend list is mainly dudes
my wii u friend list is mainly dudes
i don't really have a problem at all with playing with dudes but maybe someone else wants to be associated with more women than men
lemme put a little picture out there
imagine that the gaming world was the other way around in terms of lovees and you're in an almost entirely female-dominant community of gamers, and that you almost always play with women when you're playing games
maybe you want a guy friend to play with for once
i bet you guys that
some people might've had that thought in their mind every so often
i think i got a bit carried away in how much i typed
