Due to the unfortunate fact that lifetime is limited, it's wise to do something with it.
I would like to know what others plan to do with their limited time here in this strange world, so please share.
For myself, I'm about as motivated as one can possibly be to become some kind of scientist or engineer, so I'm going to major in mechanical or electrical engineering. I decided to pursue this because, as humans, we know very little about the world. It's really odd how we even exist, "piloting these flesh vehicles around this dimension with a bunch of other flesh vehicles," as some guy once said. Whenever I try to comprehend the magnitude of how large the world is, it completely blows my mind and I always feel my heart sink. It's like for that moment, I'm not familiar with how the world is set up. The laws of nature are truly magnificent - they make me believe that whatever created the universe must want us to figure this crap out. Maybe it's like a game to see which organism can find out the meaning of life the fastest. Even the idea that we were created seems really odd, and to think that whatever created the world has some kind of conscience seems even more odd - probably an idea of fellow humans if you ask me. There are some really odd things out there that were not created by humans. One might say that these things were created by whatever made the universe, and those things - generally regarded as natural laws - are what I want to spend my life studying. I know for a fact that several scientific discoveries can be made by an individual in a lifetime - it merely takes true passion and dedication. Engineering will allow me study natural laws while also having job opportunities, as I'll know how to apply those laws to make some really cool things.
