I'm not going to continue biology-fact-wars, because people can't understand that the above are aliens.

they can latch onto your brain and control you, but still leave you alive.

so they can pretty much take control of whatever living thing it can get a hold of

so like, a bunch of headcrabs can take over a bunch of enemy aliens and use them as an even stronger army


and when their victims die, they can just unlatch and get a new one

Xenomorphs are from Alien, Necromorphs are from Dead Space, the Flood are from Halo, Headcrabs, as everyone knows, are from Half Life, Zergs are from Starcraft, don't know hat Tyranids are though

Considering both Isaac Clarke and John Carver have fought Necromorphs the size of buildings, i'd say Necromorphs would definitely come to an eventual win

Actually, if you played Half Life 1/2, headcrabs seem to be able to survive in a lot of environments

Yeah if they can mortally threaten a super species that built technology that can wipe out all sentient life, I think they could take on a few parasites.

But what if headcrabs take over the victims of flood?

They don't. There are no brains or anything like that to do so. The "control" spot would be the flood infection spore itself.
