double toast:

so I recently found a list of wars going on before this rp happened and didn't finish until after 1836

of those there was: the french conquest of algeria, the carlist war, the second seminole, and a few rebellion uprisings in brazil

in the french conquest of algeria, the belligerents were:
- france
- algiers
- the ottomans

for sake of the rp, france is currently being tied up in the carlist war though, involving:
- united kingdom
- france
- portugal
- spain

for that reason, the two sides involved in the french conquest are under a temporary ceasefire. either side may break the ceasefire after 1839, resuming the war, or sue for peace, ending the war. terms for peace from france would include the cession of all money within algerian treasuries and a concession of defeat

Morocco claims land along the shore

ottomans best nation

I don't see any positives in westernization. Oh man this Victorian age was never spoken of in my school at all.

Time to Wikipedia.

I don't see any positives in westernization.
you get to be strong and technologically advanced

you get to be strong and technologically advanced
by having your military automatically disband and have your friends and allies become you bitter enemies? add a toping of constant riots and leader assassinations as well

yeah but after that

if you can survive the westernization process, it becomes very easy to curbstomp your neighbors and establish yourself as a world superpower

eg japan circa 20th century

otherwise you just end up being modern day iran/iraq/afghanistan/syria/etc

so uhm take the chances to forget everyone?

or isolationism

because that's obviously the easiest

nations with unique westernization processes have a higher chance of success than others, but it's always nice to try

unless you do get on the raw end of the deal and another country kicks your sandcastle over

or isolationism

because that's obviously the easiest
which sounds like a really bitchy way to hut your economy and forgien affairs.

Examples of countries that took to isolation?
