If it weren't for europeans colonizing sub-Saharan Africa they'd probably still be living as badly as they were 1000 years ago.
Sure we did many bad things but the survivors are better off for our being there.
"Sure they were enslaved, pitted against eachother, removed from their lands, murdered, and raped, but their successors are better off for it."

somehow I think our ancestors could have handled that situation better

Quite of few of the posts on the page you posted on explain just what you ask.
the justice system is all about revenge. the whole concept of punishment is
the death penalty especially. it's 100% revenge

what do you think "justice" is?

Justice is not revenge and even if it was then what the forget did these white people even do. Because if it's about the Imperialist period then they probably weren't involved in that. If it's about slavery in America then they were definitely not involved in that. Seriously. "Social Justice" against whites is nothing but petty revenge.

A fair compromise is exactly the opposite of what the tumblrinas want though. They want instead of equality to be superior to everyone else by being special snowflakes.

This is where the concept of "privilege" comes into play and there's a huge list of reasons why it's handicapped.
I'm only gonna list them if somebody wants me to though, I don't want to waste your time otherwise.

I'll admit that Africa was forgeted up pretty bad though. I believe aid was provided, however.

Well then let's quit pusillanimous individualfooting around and start calling "Social Justice" "Petty Revenge" from now on because that's all it is!

somehow I think our ancestors could have handled that situation better
Of course, but all that's left is the here and now.
And there's a lot of people in modern African cities living lives they'd never be able to have known without Europeans.

Which is why our system is flawed.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I feel like we don't realize how easy it is to be indoctrinated into a line of thinking. We don't realize that the standards of yesterday are not those of today, what seems like common sense isn't necessarily common throughout time. It is quite obvious that the people committing the crimes of the past didn't think too poorly about it.

It's easy to call people in the past awful, but I'm sure one day we'll be awful people too.

Justice is not revenge and even if it was then what the forget did these white people even do.
justice may not be exclusively revenge, but revenge is still a kind of justice
I'm not saying I agree with the whole. an eye for an eye thing. even when it comes to racism. like, everyone who hates gay people is straight, but I've never felt the need or desire to get revenge by being mean to a straight person because they were straight

the racism they receive is, justified. you know, social justice.
What the forget is this? I don't think I've read anything as ass handicapped as this in a really long time. Do you actually believe this?

The concept of punishment is about negative feedback. It's the stick. The death penalty is not about revenge, it is about removing people from society that need to be removed. Nowadays putting someone in prison for life is cheaper and the chance that they will escape is low, but this was not always the case. The death penalty predates these facts, it was not invented for revenge. Maybe now it needs to change, but it slowly is.

At this rate you'll debate yourselves to 50 pages within the next five minutes.

justice may not be exclusively revenge, but revenge is still a kind of justice
Only not, because revenge begets retribution, which is the opposite of what an ideally just solution would entail.

I support the death penalty.
Thing is it's obviously far cheaper to just kill someone than support them for a lifetime.
It's the appeals and bureaucratic stuff that racks up the bills.

Are you people even still speaking English? Come on. Let's just get this all out in one sentence: either social justice exists or it doesn't, but can we stop debating the definition of revenge?!

what do you think "justice" is?
Punishing a wrong or violation with the appropriate punishment.

To sentence someone to death to protect society is justice, to kill someone in the name of retribution for yourself is revenge. Their meanings can become grey. It is what separates us from civilized and uncivilized society.

Then again the universe didn't decide what was right or wrong, we did.

revenge is "the action of inflicting hurt or harm on someone for an injury or wrong suffered at their hand"
if someone kills your parents, and you pee on their car, that's still revenge
