Umm well, soldiers pick up weapons and shoot to kill with the knowledge that there are other people who are trying to kill them. Anyone killed in this manner is trained and is willing to accept the consequences of battle, or not trained which just shows that they are more willing to die. Most soldiers do not try to kill civilians, most soldiers try to help civilians. Soldiers are oftentimes paid.

Additionally, soldiers are not supposed to kill people in horrible ways. Serial killers may enjoy this.
