Author Topic: air-strafe  (Read 1160 times)

would it be possible to implement air-strafing similar to that in the source engine? air-strafing as in, if you hold a directional key and move your mouse in that direction at a mildly slow speed, your path in the air will rotate to that direction. this allows for the ability to move directions other than forward while rocket jumping and to also do a bunnyhop-esque forward motion that doesn't really work because bhopping doesn't exist in blockland.

doesn't all of this exist in blockland already
you can bunnyhop by jumping forward off a sloped surface
you can manoeuvre in midair with directional keys

yes, this all already here

i mean, you CAN move in mid-air with directional keys, but it doesn't have the same fluidity that air-strafing does

maybe i should've provided a video to demonstrate the maneuverability it provides

in fact, here it is

EDIT: another example

try replicating that in blockland. you can't because it's incredibly hard to change your direction while in mid-air in blockland.

You can't because it's incredibly hard to change your direction while in mid-air in blockland.

Oh really? It can't be THAT hard to do.
