Because Calzone has not been active and Avalonia only has so many resources, Calzone is on its own, for now at least. Maybe Plexia can be saved if morn decides to do anything.
Avalonian ships, both civilian and military are armed more heavily due to nautical violence, and ships once again begin to travel in convoys escorted by warships. Many Avalonian ships are equipped with small, improved versions of the ballista that Avalonian engineers developed a while back. Residents of Turtle Island begin to improve fortifications and such.
Avalonia finally makes good on its promises of roads and such, funneling cash into public works in Southern Avalonia.
The Avalonians deliver their letter and await a response, talking idly among themselves and in broken Old Belanese with some of the Erinamese diplomats around them. At first, they note that the Erinamese seem perturbed by them, perhaps at their clumsy use of the language of an ancient enemy, but they do their best to make it clear that Avalonia wishes for peace, trade, and to learn more about Erinaum as most of Avalonia's knowledge of it is second or third hand and fairly old at that. The Avalonians also make it clear that they were sent to establish communication between the two nations, and also to visit the Erinamese capitol to personally deliver a second letter which is sealed with wax inside a black envelope to the Erinamese Emperor (Avalonian assumption about the Erinamese leadership, could be a republic for all Avalonia knows).
