Sorry guys, been late on the last map update.  Please bear with me.  It will be finished soon, but to help speed things up, if you can pm me any and all quotes of approved changes in territory since the last update, that would be great.

And before Plethora complains about his peninsula, that part is already completed.

Erinaum and Zēnia become allies, and as a result, sworn enemies of Bēlänia.  Tsekēnaum decides to rescind its offers to Erinaum in alliance.  In a few years, Erinaum teaches Zēnia the art of military organization.

Erinaum and Zēnia begin to do joint training exercises.  Battle plans are drawn up and approved.

All war technology is shared so that our sides might grow stronger, though both sides acknowledge that complete proliferation will not be possible by the time that the sons of the day and the sons of the night will cross blades.

The borderlands grow quiet.  Nothing makes a sound but the wind through the hills and forests.

It is the calm before a storm.

And before Plethora complains about his peninsula, that part is already completed.
lol.

Work on Avalonian roads approaches completion.  Construction of a citadel, Grand Temple, and modest library is planned out.

Miko never responded as to my diplomatic actions with Ormica either, but whatever.

New Policy: Please PM me any major actions you make with NPCs. Also any major military decisions. Do NOT decide your outcome in battle or have NPCs agree/disagree to anything you request.

You can send the quote(s) to me and I'll respond in the thread.
i seriously don't have time to read through all your posts aside from just skimming through or posting about Lotavik unless it's on the weekend. Sorry.

mhm
As long as you're realistic about it idgaf. I'm literally here to decide what random event happens and to control NPCs/battle. Not to decide how your resolution plays out and how it'll affect your nation in the long term.

The policy was enacted 3 posts after I sent the diplomatic mission so I figured...  But as said, whatever.  Will send a pm w/ quote.

Atenisia completes its long-needed road systems, proving a better travel for traders and travelers. This is also bad, however, because it allows the few bandits in the nation to target them. For this reason, Atenisia begins to make Traveler's Rest Stops, outfitted with a guard station (posts are spread out every 2 KM) every 40 KM.

The Council's (constitutional) elimination of the Assembly fixes stability, and rather much improves it, and allows the country to run effectively again.

Research and Development

The Empire of Aspidis continues research on their better overall weaponry, and it seems to be going by effectively. Let us hope that it continues to go this way, and pray that no problems arise soon. As of present, a rough estimate of it's completion is 34%.

Politics & Groovy stuff

The Emperor, Ennius Cinereo, has passed away in these passing years due to age and died at a fair age of 68. The populace rejoice, as they do with every noble passing, as a ceremony is held to preserve the skull of Ennius and to store it away in the Cor'mundum's royal palace's own 'chapel', in which it will be placed besides his fathers. The rejoicing of death is not ill-thinking in Aspidis, as their religion is based around the death of the old and the birth of the young. AKA they're loving nuts or something. With the death of his father Ennius, Balbinus has free reign to the title of emperor, which he gladly relinquishes from his dead father.

Early Artillery (Ballista): 100%
- Ballista
- Very non-ballista projectiles.

alright gojira is completely dead, rip in pieces
first contact with erste will have to wait I guess

Varansk sends their first colonists across the channel, claiming small chunks of the mainland as their own. Two hundred soldiers are sent along with them.

As population expands, so does army, growing to 21000 and 1300 respectively.

Coastal defense posts begin being built on the northern shores of Varansk. These consist of stone watchtowers, at the top of which sit groups of well-trained archers equipped with arrows that have their tips covered in cloth and flammable oils, ready to be ignited on a moment's notice.

Research is started on primitive mechanical bows, imprecise but powerful.

A: You may not colonize if you are surrounded by nations

Avalonian trading ships reach the tip of the <, discovering that the world does not, in fact, continue along that coastline forever.  Beans are brought back from this region.

Avalonian roads reach almost total completion.  One of the largest roads leads from Nazgar to the iron town on the peninsula, and another leads to the largest town on the Ormican border.

As members of the Avalonian Union begin to show signs of age and the grim shadow of death begins to circle one, the need for new appointments becomes clear.  Two members retire to their private lives, A member of one of Avalonia's oldest families, and an outstanding citizen, and are replaced by internal appointment (the retirees votes included in the process) with two younger, qualified individuals.  The Council begins to consider other potential future members.

Goods brought back to Avalonia now include books and scrolls, mostly on factual matters such as medicine, mathematics, engineering, chemistry, and history, but also on matters such as theology, stories, and the journals of leaders and ship captains.  These books are copied and stored in Nazgar's library; the original books are kept in a very dry, very heavily guarded underground vault along with other treasures of the Avalonian government.

"The earliest form of the ballista is thought to have been developed for Dionysius of Syracuse, circa 400 BC." - Wikipedia
Throwing it out there.

An Atenisian merchant fleet (who has traveled much farther than their competitors in looks for a better source of trade, and with it a Atenisian Naval Vessel, makes first contact with an Avalonian trade vessel in good terms.

In other news, expansion south continues. The Assembly, less distraught than usual, finally decides on a better and new council, since all of them are old and cranky (idfk, terms are silly considering like a couple hours is irl is a term). The King is still alive, however, for some reason. He's about to hit the age of 75. What a glorious leader, the Gods are so good to him.

Another attempt to contact the Abiltons (third time, Miko), is made.

To be honest, we are a bit ahead of the technology, everyone is. Think of it as a really oversized crossbow that is only super effective at shortish-medium range.

Ok can you shut the forget up

I have a big boy job that takes a lot of time. I told you guys, PM me if you want NPCs to respond. If you feel entitled enough to tell me how many times you've tried to do it the wrong way like I'm doing something wrong you can kindly gtfo.

And what does that even mean? Contact for what?

Check your PMs, I've sent you something about it. You should've seen, it, anyway.

Specifically, gifting some stuff, being nice, wanting friendship/peace.

No, you don't get ballistas yet.

No, you didn't say anything about what this "Contact" was about. You literally just sent me the quote of you making "Contact"

And Albiton takes the gifts, but quickly escorts the Ateni out of their lands.
