Whale 001 travels to the inner Asteroid belt and notifies all other drones to stay out of the area. Whale 001 then proceeds to munch asteroids.
The Hives grow to 14 colonies. With more than 470,000 members, the project is deemed stable, and focus is taken away from growth and now put on temporary away colonies for mining on Terra Nova.
4 of 7 megacolonies from the BC claim are scrapped. The hive colonists then dismantle their colonies and store usable materials aboard carrier colonists (Large, yacht-sized android insects that have capacity to carry up to 7 tons each). These colonies are then to be transported to areas of interest around the globe, for instance, for mining. A total of 8 colonies are scattered across the globe. The closest one to a nation or sovereign territory is a aluminum mining colony 20 miles outside of SERBA's southern border. Over the course of the next two years, these colonies will sustain an average of 12-18 thousand members.

SERBA will be willing to assist in this, but only when they can be assured that they can successfully create a stable collection of dark matter. Geiger counters from the earlier tests had shown that what they pulled over was what is a simple example of hot darkmatter, and that the facility they conducted the experiment in began to increase sharply in radioactive activity.
BC sends a video of the current excavation area– completely automated, and a chasm a half mile in diameter, and a sixth mile deep.
