They're discontented at both.  At the nobility because they still have power, and at the state for not providing a true republic.  Consensus at 60%.

The nobility only has power among their family, family being tribe and clans. The people still have more power then any state they have ever seen. They can elect a person who they agree with, and hope laws they like are placed in. Any more is too much to ask of a state. This is unprecedented power to the people. Attempt to enjoy it instead of always finding faults. A question is asked to the people. Would you rather we follow Irajinads lead and have a pure, absolute ruler with no laws from a people-elected assembly?

You do what you want.  You'll have to find a way to please as many people as you can.

And no, they are subjected for ten years to still be under the nobility without any representation.  To this result, many cry for relresentation right away or to do away with the system of nobility.

These 10 years are a transitional one, so we can iron out the best constitution for our republic without having it cripple us as a nation.

Strange how no monarchy has had it's people call for representation? Surely this couldn't be a concentrated assault on me for choosing an unpopular republic, heavens no.

There has been a terrible explosion at the newly established Navaro mine! Reports of flames in a purple hue reach the capitol and rumors that the Navaro had cursed the land abound.

The Bao visits the mines and observes no features in the rock to suggest the source of the explosion, however his Disciple noted the large presence of bats in the cave being mined as opposed to previous mines further in Ru'sh Naal territory.

Taking samplings of the deposits (guano) left on the cave floor they discovered the substance to be extremely flammable, and likely the result of one of the explosions earlier reported. Dyoeng Sun Bao requests for the establishment of the school of Alchemy at Ru'sh Kai to further understand such phenomenon and better establish the livelyhood of all those alive through the will of the Bao.

Seeing the potential health benefits such a school could bring should it uncover the mysteries of the links between the flesh and the earth from which it came and gathers it strength, Dyoeng Sun Bao requests for individuals to donate themselves to the school for the purposes of discerning the effects of any remedies the school may bring forth.

Ahijaman warned you of consequences and you did not listen.  (I was using Ahijaman to allude to a stable form of government, used historical examples and lots of logic and brown townysisbased on your posts but you saw it differently, and frankly your republic seems ahead of its time for Galaumia, and unfit for them at this time.  Earth history, which I assume that a lot of us are trying to mimic in one way or another, does not speak in favor of your choice.)

The cavalry elite force in Erinaum inspires Bēlänia to suggest a new advanced force for all four nations, the Ezbatan Elite.  The idea is being bounced around the Ezbatan Council, in a closed-door meeting, and additional military figures are summoned to Sånyeta to discuss equipment, training, and to conduct tests.  Recent graduates of the Sånyeta Military Academy, five who scored in the tops of their classes, three who scored moderately, and two who scored lower are also summoned for tests.

The Vålderesk School welcomes new schools of Military Science and Tactics, Linguistics, Western Cultures, and Engineering.  Overhauls occur in the School of Alchemy.

Ezbátu completes its very technically advanced double-bow ballista, only to find out that Irajinad had this technology nearly two centuries ago.

Espovon begins to scout inland on the island for civilization

gifts are sent with the scout parties to try and get the locals to join espovon

They thank them.  The people, in return, provide them food and housing, and preach the message of Jesus.  (These islands were home to Jesus, who traveled between these islands preaching during his lifetime, and missionaries, who spread the word heavily in this region.)

Dyoeng Sun Bao visits Vålderesk on behalf of the Ru'sh Naal people with requests of admittance of Ru'sh Kai's top scholars to the school of Military Science. In return Ru'sh Naal would pledge support should any nation directly threaten their Ezbatan brethren.

The Ezbatan Council accepts, but Erinaum communicates that the school is new, and that it would be better if the fledgling school was allowed time to take root.  Erinaum points the scholars to the School of Linguistics, and advises that they take two years of intense study in Erinamese and Ezbatan, the languages most often used in the rest of the school.  The Linguistics School, although officially new, had existed as an organization within the University for a few centuries.

Dyoeng Sun Bao thanks the Ezbatan council and returns home. While attempts to maintain transliturgural material in their studies have been made, the students at Ru'sh Kai seldom graduate the college knowing more languages than going in. As such the school of Scibery is reformed requiring that graduates show proficiency in at least one language that is not one of the four core languages of the country.

Many students become upset, especially those on the cusp of graduation at the time. The Bao states that it is written in the Mandate of Bao that we must preach wisdom to everyone, and how are we to speak to those who cannot understand us? It is not the student's job to understand the instructor as it is the instructor's job to communicate to the student. As such it is only to be expected that they learn to speak to others, that they may teach, and in return learn from a greater collective body of knowledge.

As such the motion stands, and many graduates of the school of Scribery become translators in the Parliament.

Off the shore of Kishka (the northern island just off the Ru gulf coast) a Mahowaeae ship transporting a large shipment of oysters and pearls from the island to Ru'sha was stopped by a routine check by an Orshkal ship. A dispute occured when the Maowaeaens refused payment and set fire to their own ship and the Orshkal ship currently tethered to it. Both ships were close to shore, and everyone was able to make it to land.

With things looking like they're going to go ~peachy in Galaumia, the Avalonian army makes its way back to Siderland where they are ferried back to the fatherland.

A representative is sent to Ezbatu with a wax sealed parchment.

Avalonia realizes the true benefit of sending engineers along with its armies, as their observations on the battlefield have led them to look into further improvements of Avalonian artillery &c., as well as observe, albeit at a distance, some of the gizmos that Irajinad uses.

The university of Nazgar undergoes some reform to make it better, more studies including a bolstered school of military tactics and strategy as well as an enlarged campus.

Tunneling in the bedrock beneath Nazgar continues.  Although it is currently impossible to determine the exact depth of the tunnels, they are obviously very deep and extensive, and as a result of this, structural concerns associated with further mining, workers liking the light of day, and rumors of monsters in the deeps, the work comes to a halt.  Stone for the construction of buildings and fortifications in and around Nazgar is now coming from a series of smaller mines and quarries from the area.

Except people wouldn't speak out when this is the first form of political freedom they get. If anything, they would speak out against past regimes, or current monarchies. Not moan and whine because nobility still controls tribes. We're miles ahead of monarchies in terms of freedom, our people would not be mad. The nobility is still given enough power that they are happy. Just because I didn't accept Ahijaman's proposal for a monarchy doesn't mean you can give me these problems that wouldn't happen.

Also, alliance with Avalonia proposed to Avalonia.

Historical examples:

Shay's Rebellion — Caused by preference of representation.

Napoleon — Born out of a time of instability, this ruler was able to seize power and turned into a dictator.

Weimar Republic — Born during instability, allowing a national socialist party to rise and create war with its neighbors.

The Later Roman Empire — Often fell to dictators that were either elected, or due to oversight or the very rot of corruption, bought their way into office, fell apart, ushering in a dark age.

The Provisional Government of Russia, 1917 — The provisional government sought to represent the middle class, and ignore or fail to properly observe the lower class majority.

In all these cases, the central government was not strong enough to enforce guidance.

Mlock, if you wish to argue why Galaumia wouldn't be traveling down a bumpy road, you're going to have to provide some hard evidence.

alliance with Avalonia proposed to Avalonia.
Given the geographical distance between Galaumia and Avalonia, the potential logistical hurdles, and Galaumia's current instability, the Council decides to put off linking itself with Galaumia at this time, but makes it clear that it will do what it can for Galaumia should it ever be in need.
