Author Topic: Anagaea II – A New Age of Empires [1117 AD]  (Read 130528 times)

A portion of the Atenisian Navy comes from the east in aid of Albiton.

If you wouldn't mind just going full NPC (I was kinda hoping this alliance with gungixiao et al would somehow pull ru'yeo into their sphere of powers) (If you wanted to keep the korean history arch thats great if not, whatever), if I come back it will be as some other native american inspired tribe.

Updated OP with new neat shenanigans.  I got a somewhat buggy, but altogether working unit count calculator for militaries.  It allows you to divide up branches of the army, assign types of soldiers, assign them to different posts, etc.  When I have it polished, I will post it here.

Added under the Powerhouse Listings a list of nations in their golden ages.

NPC happenings:

  • In the north, the war between Olva, Peshland, Aldegar and Unakrya ends.  The results are as follows:
    • Aldegar has gained significant amounts of the Olvan Coastline.
    • Olva and Peshland have gained Unakryan land, though not very much, and have forced the regime into stopping raids of ships in the region.
    • Peshland, although willing to continue the war, has seen Edbanian troops lining up to its borders and has quickly ceased its war efforst in the north and has moved its troops to the south.
  • Conservatia has successfully gained military control over the peninsula, even though some of the barbarians there remain restless and resist Christendom.
  • Zurukland now undoubtedly is controlled by Asar.
  • In a daring move, Ytsur decides to jump out into the frontier and claim some land.  OTA-affiliated forces are forced back by a sizable Ytsuri force, as the OTA forces were not prepared for such an action.  As a result of Ytsur's constant recklessness, the other members of the Five Seas Alliance begin to distrust the Empire of Ytsur.
  • Enteland is discovered by Asar and their people are scarred by an event caused in part by the expeditionary force sent by Asar.  The massacre of 5 Entelandic civilians was sparked by a lack of cultural understanding by each side.  A sign of welcome and hospitality was misinterpreted by an Asari soldier as malicious intent, and as a result, he and fellow soldiers drew their swords and killed the civilians.  The soldiers were executed by their officers on the spot for their disrespect of a once peaceful and pure people.
  • Olis, in its golden age, expands by an influx of natives who wish to become a part of the wonderful democracy unparalleled in the world (Even though no outside contact has been made, it is the best.).  As a culture and as a people, Olis grows technologically and socially at a very rapid rate.

Map updates to come later.

Alright.

An Alhbadi trade ship is sunken by a Ytsuri naval vessel.
Albhad declares war on Ytsur.

If you could just put the New Union in stasis, that'd be awesome.  See you in a few weeks.

With Albhad declaring war on Ytsur, so does the rest of the Islamic Empire. The 375k Galaumian troops are now halfway to Ytsur. We encourage Ezbatu to begin sending troops, along with their navy and Gungxiao's navy.

What's with the grey line between Albiton and Espovon?

Ezbátu and the WOC send a collective 1,000,000 troops, whether by land or sea.  They rally with the IE forces at the Ytsuri border and charge right in, destroying anything in their path.

What's with the grey line between Albiton and Espovon?
Sea borders for nations with ambiguous water or island claims.  meant mainly for stuff like Asar/Albiton.

Large warships head to the middle of the naval conflict, they slopped shields on the sides made out of boards to attempt to prevent boarding, behind the top of the shields are heightened platforms and underneath them are the oars.

Men behind the shields begin to throw ceramic jars at the enemy boats, which in turn shatter if they hit and burst into fire from a substance inside.

Military engineers find use for a siphon pump that they usually used for removing water

The pirates take the money and run.  Well, what could you expect...

Also proof on research of siphon pumps?

Last post for a while.

Hey, I put years of top secret research into greek fire.  Don't pull it out of nowhere.  It's insulting to the rest of us.

The Islamic Empire sends:

Galaumia - 375k
Irajinad - 656,250
Sjinai - 37,500
Osamar - 487,500

Totaling: 1,556,250

Also proof on research of siphon pumps?

Siphons were used in ancient times by the greeks, around 3 AD - also used by Byzantium to project greek fire - I mentioned that I was trying to find new ways to rid of flooded fields, or prevent flooding from rain in my fields.

its a bit ambiguous but I thought through ages we had a bit of a tech fill which fills in small things like that (now that i that i think about it its a pretty advantageous thing and I'll drop it)

My mixture would be a lot more crude and less effective, my country knew what hot pitch did to things so they decided to weaponize it some how in a different way for looking to make a similar substance that didn't require to be boiled prior to use but simply lit on fire. ( Was there ever a real solid formula for greek fire?) I have plenty of minerals too to work with from the quarries and mines that I use also.

I will leave it up to Swat one whether he thinks its ok or not  (if not I can revise my post into a proper fight)

Asar has cut off diplomatic ties with Ytsur.

Also, as far as knowledge of Greek fire goes, the furthest western state to use or research it was the New Union, and they've been sending people to steal technology from the East (which has been utilizing incendiary weapons for a long time) for centuries.

However, if you just say that you know how multiple technologies work and then say that you just have the hybrid technology from it and even if crude, it is fully capable, and it should not be drawn out of mystery.

so I no longer have it or

That's hard to say.  I'd say it's possible to have clay pots with flammable liquid, which then you have to hit with a thrown torch or flaming arrow.
