I finally got some dwarves down there to deal with him.

If you feel like drawing the scene, there was just a dog, a speardwarf, and an axedwarf fighting it, and the axe dwarf got the kill by punching it in the face hard enough to bruise it's brain.

Also, the dog died a little after the fight, due to bleeding out from two mangled legs.
