Fallout 3: The Adventures of Eli Bradford, Tunnel Snake.
Wake up! Cmon, WAKE UP!

What the hell do you want now, Amata?

Trouble was brewing in Vault 101. I lived here all my life. Vault 101 was much like North Korea, in some ways. Nobody ever enters, nobody ever leaves. My father escaped the vault, and the batstuff insane Overseer finally snapped and sent his guards to kill me.
Amata got to me first before the guards did, and hatched an escape plan. She was the daughter of the Overseer, but she wasn't as insane as him.

I grabbed my Red Ryder BB Gun and quickly made my way torwards the exit.

The guards were closing in fast, and radioactive roosterroaches were invading the vault. This worked against them, as the Radroach infestation separated the guards and made them easy to pick off one by one.

Sorry, officer. Dead people don't need clothes or nice, fancy guns.

Brisa, the cousin of Amata, came to me and gave me the bad news: Amata is being interrogated and beaten.

The resident nutcase in Vault 101 started yelling about how this is all my fault.

You'll shoot your eye out with that thing, Officer Mack!

SWEET JESUS NO GOD NO

BLAM

Oh my god! Daddy!
He was a little bitch and so were you.

You saw him pull out a minigun and try to mow us down. I had no choice.

This is it! I can escape from the asylum!

Its just the two of us against the entire radioactive hellhole outside the Vault known as the Wasteland. Didn't exactly want to have Brisa tag along, but its nice to have an extra gun. And meatshield. And also a pack mule.

This companion mod adds in Brisa, who tags along into DLCs and throughout the entire game. She has features like the player being able to choose what she levels up in, and a few other neat things. It also adds a custom weapon and 500 rounds of ammo or something that can be silenced if you crouch and then select it in the Pip Boy.

Freedom, here I come!

Eli Bradford's adventures begin. His dad's escaped from his Vault and he's embarking on one huge quest to find him.

What follows next? Aliens, nuclear bombs, slavery, virtual reality simulations, LIBERTY PRIME, Enclave Radio, Raiders, Ghouls, Mutants, and child killing thousands of corpses..

I will be playing ALL the Fallout Games, Tactics included. No, Brotherhood Of Steel(Fallout for the original Xbox) does not count as a "Fallout" game to me.

Fallout 2 Archive

Previously, in Fallout 1.....

Nick Walter saved the Wasteland from Mutants by destroying the Vats and convincing the Master to commit Self Delete.

"I'm sorry. You're a hero.... And you have to leave." -Overseer's Last Words, shortly before Nick Walter explodes him into bloody chunks

The Overseer kicks him out of the vault. Retribution is quickly served when Nick Walter murders him.

Nick Walter is called a traitor and locked out of the vault. This angers him even further, and prompts him to break into and massacre all of Vault 13. If he can't have his only home, nobody else can.

A Police Call Box then proceeds to kidnap Nick and whisk him and Dogmeat away into Fallout 2.

And so, the adventures of Nick "Blue" Walter continue. Don't expect this playthrough to be canonical with what actually happened in the Fallout universe. After all, in Fallout 1 he massacred all of Vault 13, Dogmeat survived and didn't commit Self Delete in a forcefield, and Ian wasn't burned to death. This will be interactive-ish, but not as much as Bandit Adventure.

This is done in the style of what you would find on the Lets Play Archive, and by that I mean screenshots.

The Game

Fallout 2 is an unusual species of PC game, an open world RPG that's played out on in a 3D isometric perspective on a hex grid. The setting is post-apocalyptic, the combat is turn based, and you can pretty much go anywhere and do anything that the game engine will allow you to do. There are usually peaceful ways that you can solve just about any quest, and a sneak thief is just as valid a build as Rambo. For something produced in 1998 it was revolutionary, and it's still aged well enough to be entertaining today. I'm playing with the Mac version from Good Old Games, so that's going to produce some constraints on the LP. Luckily it's patched up to 1.02, which should eliminate some of the more egregious bugs.

The Setting

You could almost describe the Fallout series as future steampunk. The setting has a retro 50's aesthetic, with a lot of the tech looking like what people in that period imagined the future would look like. It's a pretty unique look, and gives the series a lot of its character. The apocalypse referred to earlier took place in an alternate timeline as a series of conflicts from 2060 to 2077, culminating in a nuclear exchange on October 23rd, 2077. Humanity was nearly wiped out, with a few scattered survivors living on the surface and others staying in great underground Vaults. 84 years later the Vault Dweller, the hero of Fallout 1, emerged from Vault 13 in search of a water chip and ended up saving the world from a psychic mutant. It was complicated. After succeeding the Vault Dweller was exiled from the Vault and left to build a small community out in the wastelands. 80 years later the village is in trouble and it falls to you, the descendant of the Vault Dweller, to save it.

For some reason, FRAPS doesn't detect Fallout, and Open Broadcaster Software causes it to crash. This will be strictly screenshot only.

Damn rats started attacking me! I had no choice but to beat them all to death with the brass knuckles the Overseer gave me. They started leaking a red liquid that was apparently called "blood". My brass knuckles got stained red, too.

I saw an extremely bright light coming out of the cave entrance. This was natural, non-artificial light. I was nearly blinded by it, and instantly wanted to go back to the vault. I still couldn't get back in.

I headed to Vault 15, but discovered a town named Shady Sands along the way.

Some guy was telling me to put my gun away, because waving a gun in someones face is apparently dangerous and not polite.

There was this thing hanging off his belt known as a rope. I took it off of him and he didn't even notice.

I wonder who this guy is? He stands out from the crowd.

"Hello, stranger. You look like you're new here. What's your name?"
"I'm Nick Walter."

Eventually the both of us struck up a conversation. I discovered that the guy resting here was named Ian, and he is resting here until his wound heals up.

I offered to let him tag along with me, and I managed to recruit him for free thanks to the power of speech.

Apparently this guy was the leader of the village. I told him I was from a vault, and that they needed a water chip to survive. He trusted me for now, and then he started rambling about "Radscorpions". He said he needed someone to go exterminate them, and I offered to do it. After all, how bad could scorpions be? They aren't even man-sized.

He also had a daughter, apparently. Name was Tandi. She was extremely excited to see a new face in town, and I learned that she was extremely bored of where she lived. How could anyone get bored of living outside of a vault? The outside world is extremely interesting.

I "borrowed" a knife and spear from Aradesh, and went back to Seth to exterminate some Radscorpions.

Bitch you forgot to loot he skeleton, scorpions can wait. GOTTA ACQUIRE DA LOOT!

Radscoprions can't be that bad, right? Ian keeps insisting that they are man-sized, but I call BS on that.

Woah. Ian was right. Ian stayed back and shot the scorpions while I rushed in and beat them all to death.

My word, it appears that I have suddenly become better at unarmed combat and speech!

Ian, what the hell is wrong with you?
Sorry, I missed!

(I discovered at this point that Ian had a tendency for accidentally shooting me in the back. Hopefully it won't happen again.)

All the radscorpions were beaten to a bloody pulp, and I got rewarded for murdering animals. The outside world is weird.

I revisited Vault 13 in order to show Ian what home is to me. I looted the skeleton first before coming in.

Ian got to look at the Vault, and I talked to Theresa, who wanted to leave the vault.

I tried to talk her out of going into the outside world, but she turned violent and started attacking me.

At that point the Vault dwellers began attacking me, and shouted that I betrayed the vault. Ian had to massacre them all in self defense.

One quickload later.......

I found myself talking to Theresa again, but this time she was willing to listen to my advice, and stayed inside the vault. Rebel faction dealt with!

I needed all the supplies I could get, so I started with all the water canteens.

I used the power of speech to talk the officer into letting me take all the guns from the vault. I managed to grab a double-barrel shotgun.

It also appears that Aradesh's daughter, Tandi, was kidnapped by raiders.

I talked to Seth, and he pointed me torwards the Raider Base. I headed south to rescue Tandi.

RANDOM ENCOUNTER! Caravan being looted by raiders!

.......Oh stuff.

Hide some where, watch the caravan guards kill the raiders. Pluck take their loot for the takings!

Kill or be killed!

Uh..... Hello there?
Shut up, kid! We're looting this joint! Now piss off!

Let me just borrow this gun and armor off of the corpses for a second.

*BLAM* *BLAM* *BLAM*

I have no idea why MS paint forgets up the colors.

Me and Ian blew away the Raiders. This double barrel shotgun came in handy for those that got too close. Two guys survived and ran away.

I gave Ian the 10mm SMG we found, since he's really good with it. Now that he has a better weapon, he should stop shooting me in the back, right?

Aw, merry christmas to me. Speaking of which, lets go see the Raiders.

THE DEAD WALK AGAIN! The Death Hand has RETURNED!

The hell are you talking about?

Have you come back to kill your son?

Apparently the Raiders think that I am a ghost. Lets go scare people, Ian!

Oh boy. I think I just ran into my "son". This guy must be the leader, so I can obviously scare him into letting Tandi go.

I've come back to haunt you.

Do: "I've come back to haunt you."

The darkness of the afterlife is all that awaits you now.

What actually happened was I told my "son" to set the girl free. He told me to never come back after this.

I will be forever in debt for your courage and bravery, wanderer. Here is your reward.

Tandi was returned safe and sound, and I got rewarded. Off to Vault 15 we go!

[FOOTAGE MISSING]

Unfortunately, Ian and I didn't find a water chip. We found a bunch of rats to explode, though. I also became better at beating people up somehow, and I feel strangely proficent in energy weapons.

Ian suggested I visit Junktown, so I did.

Killian Darkwater was the mayor of this small town, and ran his own store. He showed me a few things about shooting a gun and I looked around for things to buy with bottle caps.

It was at that moment that a hitman walked in and took a shot at Killian.

Gizmo sends his regards! *BLAM*

Oh crap.

I tried to talk him down, but he kept shooting Kilian, and Ian was forced to mow him down. He fired a burst from his submachine gun and the hitman was turned into bloody chunks.

Some guy named "Gizmo" is behind this, and Killian wants me to help take him down. I agreed to it.

He told me to wear a recorder in order to get evidence that "Gizmo" is a bad guy. Honestly, I don't get why Killian has to be by the book. I'm off to find Gizmo.

"I've come back to haunt you" will result in the Raiders opening fire and killing your extremely low-level ass, so I reloaded a save and instead ordered Garl to free Tandi.

Anyone have tips or advice such as "If you see an X, equip a Y and X will become a companion/give you a gun" or "Don't say [phrase] to [person]"?

Today I discovered a dog.

I showed up wearing a leather jacket, and the dog started following me. I'll name him Dogmeat.

Jesus loving christ, Gizmo really is a fat bastard like they all say he is.

Got the evidence I needed, now lets take down Gizmo! Off to jail with him.....

DIE!

*BLAM* *BLAM*

Gizmo pulled out a Mauser and started shooting at us, and Dogmeat leaped onto his chair and ripped out his eyes. Good boy. My buisness in Junktown was done, and I headed off to the Hub, where Ian originally came from.

I wonder what awaits us here?

I must ask, why didn't you bang the mayors daughter?

I must ask, why didn't you bang the mayors daughter?

Nick Walter is a virgin of the wastes. Also, I didn't know Killian had a daughter.
