i played vanilla for 7 hours and got I AM ERROR 3 times, skipping the Mom fight and going to the Womb twice without beating her first

This has probably already been answered but is there a point to playing in hardmode? I've been pulling my hair out over the past two days losing very badly. I can't seem to play a successful run on hard with a few characters either. Any advice/suggestions/does hardmode matter at all except for babies and loss of hair?

Was playing on hard and doing fine but up until recently, I can't seem to get anywhere. Probably because of others issues. Eh.

I also picked up cursed eye thinking it was mom's pearl that almost ruined my run

I did that at least twice before I realized trinkets don't appear on pedestals

Actually you need to get the hardmode unlocks and clearances to get real platinum god.

It's not random.
So, in short, look at Isaac's cursed eye. If it's white or blinking, you're safe. If it's black, you will teleport to a different room on hit.
If you want to test it out for yourself, there is a cursed eye immediately adjacent to the spawn if you use this seed: ZE1J 3XQC.

they're both kinda the same, I enjoy keyboard more
