like you said, 'religious morals' are human morals. the only issue here is that they often fail to evolve as humans evolve. i guess someone more tradition-oriented would say that's a good thing, tho.

I don't know about you guys, but I enjoy these kinds of threads where we discuss big issues. It gets a little heated, but I find people's opinions interesting.

The point of debates isn't usually to try to change your opponents mind, that rarely happens
Usually the point is to provide information to other people who haven't yet formed a solid opinion
I've had/seen plenty of messages/comments from people after these type of discussions, basically saying "oh i see your side now"

I'm personally about letting people do what they want to do. It doesn't effect my life at all, so why shouldn't they be happy? I would probably feel uncomfortable if a guy tried hitting on me, but I don't mind gay or lesbian couples.

I usually look at it as a sharing of ideas. The flaw with my own logic though is that the belligerents of this issue are so heavily entrenched, there is no real middle ground to discuss ideas and formulate new opinions. Other topics could probably be debated on a much more open field.

don't look at it as a war and don't assume people to be stubbornly set in their beliefs. just put your ideas up there calmly and respectfully and carefully consider everything and it's all funtimes and dasiyys
