while i agree somewhat, that doesn't mean we have to treat them like dirt. along the way, if we find some way to change DNA we could remove those qualities in their offspring, and allow them to reproduce.

if the disability is going to kill the offspring earlier than others, then yes, they shouldn't be allowed to have children.

if the proposition/bill/law was worded in a way as to clearly define "severe developmental disability" and not leave loopholes for states and/or lawyers to exploit, then this would be agreeable

i don't agree with denying people the right to reproduction, but i think it's pretty irresponsible to reproduce knowing that the child will be may be seriously affected in a negative manner from birth

I don't recommend it, but I don't agree with taking away their liberties either. Thing is that since these people know there is a chance their child won't live a normal life they won't try to have children.
