Author Topic: Windows vs. Mac OS X Megathread  (Read 13419 times)

this topic was bound to turn out into an apple fanboys vs windows fanatics

anyways, i am a control freak in this regard (first thing i do when i get a new phone is to root it and demolish all the bs and bloatware i can find), so i like windows, but i never tried an apple

Yes, Apple offers the same thing. But does Google let you go from device to device and continue working on exactly what you were? Writing a text on your phone and you want to continue on your laptop, you simply open it up, want to continue where you were reading on a webpage? same thing. Where exactly did I defeat my own point?
I don't know if I can do that with my phone. I guess that is pretty awesome.

Here I'll break it down for you baby cakes
My argument was this:Your argument wasYour conclusion is that the 12 year old computer has a longer lifespan than a 15 year old computer
12 is not greater than 15

Unusably slow all depends on how you take care of the computer.

Also the Burden of Proof lies on your shoulders to prove that is no pre-made of similar build quality for less price.
Have fun cutie.
Does your 15 year old computer run a operating system as recent as 2009 and also run about just as fast as it did when you first bought it?

tl;dr Apple has better build quality and lifespan than it's Windows-based counterparts.
Stop saying that windows makes computers. They don't. It's completely unreasonable to try and blame windows for another company's poor build quality. Plus, I wouldn't call overpaying by 600 dollars reasonable for a better build quality.

I'm not blaming loving windows you pleb. I said windows-based computers.

Why would I put a newer OS on it? That does not effect the usability of the computer.

Here I'll let you define a few things so we can actually debate this:
What defines Apple Level build quality?
What defines a computer's life-cycle?

yeah no don't think so

Does yours? What the forget?

oh by the way I feel that unix and MS DOS are the best operating systems hands down

Sure sounded like it lol

Why wouldn't you put the newer software on it? Security, features, and better performance.

Build quality? Apple uses aluminum chassis versus the standard plastic that the majority of PC's use.
Life Cycle? Depends on build quality, how the software runs, and how you take care of it. All of which are factors.

I still don't see why idiots still debate it, why can't you just accept there is another OS out there? Deal with it. Not everyones needs fits the needs of teenage gamers.

how about development

on windows you get the whole .net framework

on windows I have visual studio and unity, and that's good enough to make some solid crap out of

"Life Cycle... ...how you take care of it"

you just added how you take care of it as 1/3 of your argument for life cycle

what if I take perfect care of my computer

"Build quality? Apple uses aluminum chassis..."

you're kidding me, right? this is an argument between apple and windows and you say "aluminum" counts?

Yes because an aluminum frame is totally worth the extra 400-600 dollars you overpay for a macbook. The aluminum only costs a few pennies! It's not worth the money. If you take care of your stuff properly any windows computer will last just as long as a mac. I don't care that there's another OS out there, I'm totally fine with that. But the fact of the matter is that it's not worth the extra money.

You didn't define the life cycle, you defined what contributes to the life cycle. What makes a computer's life cycle end?

It's not that people can't accept there is another OS out there, it's just there's morons like you who tout that it's the best thing since sliced bread.

tbh pricing isnt really an issue anymore. basically everything is over priced now days. especially laptops and phones. i guess the smaller the technology gets the more expensive it gets
