I watch the incoming jets pass over as I fly barely at treetop level back towards base.

The locks remain, but no missiles are fired, likely because the pilots don't want to risk a missile hitting a building because of shoddy lock-on conditions. Eventually the interceptors give up and fly back where they came from. You encounter no ground-based AA on the way back to base, and Tippy is able to limp her beat up chopper back with no trouble.

Despite the base taking another mortar hit (which injured nobody in Mjolnir), no serious damage was caused, and the rebels thank the chopper crews for their assistance. You're now free to do on-base interaction stuff while I revise the next planned mission so it doesn't take a loving month.
