"Ah stuff." Bell deploys two flare and one chaff salvo, firing a seeker back at Drone-1.
The missile strikes the foremost drone, nearly wiping it out with a single hit. It continues on, smoking heavily but not returning fire despite being in an advantageous position. Drones 3 and 4 are willing to pick up the slack, however one of them fires from a poor angle that leaves the missile streaking off towards the carrier to be taken out by the point defense.

"Bell, I'm going to climb and get above those two unknowns. Faw, I'd love some help." Gus glances worryingly at the six drone contacts for a moment. "You two can handle yourself for now, yeah?" he adds.
As you climb higher you spot two additional contacts, still stealthed. One of them is significantly larger than the other three, and is being picked up at a much greater range than the others.

I let loose a load of LCP at the closest drone in my arc of fire and deploy two flares - Then I dive down hoping to get out of the lock range looking to save my chaff for a better situation.
why do I have 2 flares I'm going to strangle someone
Your burst of laser-fire finishes off the lead drone, leaving only 5 remaining; two of which (2 and 3) dive after you while the other three attempt to stay on Shortsword. The distant stealth craft keeps you in its sights, launching a missile.
blame the carrier crew for not being able to fully replenish you in time

"I'm going to see if I can get a lock on one of the stealth jets."

Faw attempts to lock on to the first airplane with his MMS system.
The enemy contacts are too far away to lock on with the MMS.

Back aboard the carrier, warning lights flash and alert klaxons blare as a voice comes over the intercom informing the crew that the carrier is under attack, they're going to combat alert, and that all pilots should report to their craft and prepare for takeoff.

Gus continues to climb. "forget," he mutters to himself. "I've got two additional contacts, both stealth. One of them is bigger than the rest. I'm gonna get above them and see what I can do. Faw, I'm not too confident with a 1 on 4, think I could get some help?"

are we still in heavy clouds

Faw flies by Walt and pops chaff to throw the reader lock off him.

"[Agh, stuff.]"
I run to my aircraft as fast as possible and start getting ready to take off.

Bell deploys flares and makes a tight turn to directly face the drones, firing a seeker at five and attempting a snap-burst on four.

oh why don't you just take mine

Well, forget me! Richard jumps out of his seat and bolts out of the carrier's common room, throwing on his helmet as he makes a beeline for his aircraft. Despite being nearly thrown off-balance by the carrier's sudden acceleration, he makes it to the lower deck quickly, climbs into the Raven, and starts the aircraft.

Do you want to use the Razorback, or borrow a Flanker or Fulcrum that the carrier has on board?
(update comes as soon as badger posts his action)

i'm gonna borrow a flanker because i need a fighter

Faw flies by Walt and pops chaff to throw the reader lock off him.

"much obliged."

Walt pulls up to enter a loop.

Jaakko scrambles to put on his G-suit and secure his helmet. He runs to the flight deck. Hundred mile-per-hour winds whip across the runway stretch on the main deck, it's a miracle that the deck crew aren't thrown to the back of the hanger deck, or sucked out the landing decks. Jaakko struggles to breathe against the winds, and secures his mask to stop the air from forcing its way down.

The massive Corsair is firmly secured to the flight deck, presumably so that the crosswinds don't throw it towards the back of the hanger. Jaakko climbs in, and quickly secures the roosterpit over himself. The deck crews are busy preparing other aircraft. Jaakko begins the startup procedure.

You get close enough to see two of the enemy contacts clearly on your HUD, and for them to notice you.
: [Damn it, they've got their own stealth planes! I knew this looked sketchy! Who sends up a measly two planes to escort a carrier anyway?]

Both planes turn your way, and your plane beeps that they have you locked on.

Faw flies by Walt and pops chaff to throw the reader lock off him.
The chaff drops the missile that was headed for Walt.

Bell deploys flares and makes a tight turn to directly face the drones, firing a seeker at five and attempting a snap-burst on four.
The missile cripples Drone 5, and 4 takes a good pounding from the gun. The drones streak past you and begin maneuvering to get on your tail.

"much obliged."
Walt pulls up to enter a loop.
The drones give chase, following you through the loop but holding their fire.

Massive shutter doors close over the opening to the flight deck, they open only when the decks are cleared and planes are being launched. This ensures that people don't get blown off the damn thing. Crewmen operating in the aft areas are required to wear harnesses that can hook to designated surfaces in the event of opening the rear doors for incoming planes or outgoing airdrops such as food, medical supplies, and tanks.

"Roger, coming in to help you now."

Faw aims at the first Sabre with his MMS and at the second Sabre with one HSM and one RGM, using his Artemis to paint both targets at once. He fires the salvo at medium range.

Bell deploys the airbrake and turns around on the tail of the Drones. She fires two seekers at Drone-6 and moves in to finish off Drone-4 by lining up a shot with her autocannon.
