Faw does a tight turn and tries to get on the tail of Tukreb-2.

Jaakko ends up coming in on the AWACS' four o'clock. He doesn't a have a good gun solution or a solid missile lock, but he fires the P3 regardless, and climbs away from the AWACS.

Goddamnit I feel the compulsion to play Ace Conbat 5. Again, again. The thought of the game puts me into nostalgic agony. I wonder if Project ACES still exists, or if they'll remake the games for PC or something.

man i hate to sound like that guy but i have no reason to believe you've changed at all from the last two times when you came in with no idea whats going on and no interest in finding out for yourself
But I've changed.

The Raven takes on the appearance of a futuristic candelabra as all four burners ignite and produce elongated plumes of fire. Richard continues to pull up into a steep climb to get above the bandit and in position for a shot.

shame there haven't been any rp posts about the pilots that stayed aboard the carrier. how are they/their aircraft fairing?

they're probably going to end up dead/severely injured, and likely they'll have no aircraft

Gus notes that the Tukreb hasn't noticed his radar lock, or has disregarded it. He flicks up an eyebrow and fires off an RGM. He begins to close and hopes that Tourist will manage to survive long enough for him to get over there.
Tukreb-3 gets the memo that you aren't just joshing around anymore and begins attempting evasive maneuvers, leaving Tourist alone. It doesn't appear to be having any success evading your radar cone.

Bell decides to pitch up the aircraft to fire an AAM at the Tukreb and loop back down to hopefully shake the seeker. Her plane is now pointing directly at the ground.
The missile responds to your maneuver by missing your tail by a hair and sailing off into the distance. Tukreb-1's pilot responds to the incoming AAM by bailing out before it destroys his plane. For what feels like the first time in forever, your plane stops screaming about lock-ons.

Faw does a tight turn and tries to get on the tail of Tukreb-2.
Tukreb-2 is a considerable distance away. You begin flying over to assist Walt and Sabre.

Jaakko ends up coming in on the AWACS' four o'clock. He doesn't a have a good gun solution or a solid missile lock, but he fires the P3 regardless, and climbs away from the AWACS.
The plasma bolt misses the fuselage, instead striking the dish and blowing it apart. The AWACS itself turns westward and begins attempting to limp its way the forget out of dodge. Needless to say, the jamming has ceased. Comms are now back, with the carrier now coming through loud and clear as another torcreep strikes the engine block.

"Mjolnir, come in! We're taking fire from the rear, have lost number four and six engines! We need assistance now!"

Tukreb-2 reacts to your setup by diving down on you, opening fire with the cannon and launching its AAMs. Whatever happens next, know that your actions this turn may have saved hundreds of crewmen's lives by clearing the jamming.

Tukreb-4 seems to have lost sight of you somewhere between you exiting your split-S when you started pulling up, and simply flies under you.

Project ACES still exists, they're currently doing AC Infinity, a f2p game for PS3 that looks pretty forgetin sweet but I don't have a PS3 to try it.

iirc taya wants to take a break, lockebox is probably in the same boat as her, and the only other pilots are juncoph and plad's characters, and i'm not sure they even want to participate anymore. As for their characters, they're all relatively fine, at least for the time being. Nobody's going to die of Star Trek exploding console syndrome, nobody with a name at least. Even if the carrier is shot down, nobody is going to die who isn't participating in the mission, that wouldn't be fair. Any planes left on the flight deck, on the other hand, can't exactly fit in escape capsules.

Bell disengages from the skirmish and falls back to point C to hopefully get into a position to intercept any more of the variety of cruise missiles or aerial torcreepes that may be heading for the carrier.

"Damn, not another one, Mjolnir-1, disengaging and moving to assist."

Bell checks her radar screen to check for contacts behind the carrier, expecting to see no contacts there.

There are, in fact, no radar contacts behind the carrier.

"Holy stuff, it's good to have comms back." Gus adjusts the volume on the radio back to normal levels. "Tourist, I've got this Tukreb that was on you. If you're free I'd suggest you help defend the carrier."

Gus keeps the radar cone squarely planted on the maneuvering Tukreb.

"Dammit, that didn't work."
I punch the burners and move to within firing range of Tukreb 3, then fire a heatseeker and my gun at it. I notice that normal chatter has started filling my ears over that stuffty music, and turn the volume back up.
"Holy stuff I hate Zit taste in music. Good to hear you all again. Carrier, I'll move to assist after I make sure this bastard's good as down."

Voices pick up where the metal stops. A panicked communications officer cries for help. Fire from the rear? Where the clouds are? How the forget? I wasn't picking up any contacts on ra- "Motherforgeter! Carrier, this is Mjolnir 2-3, I'm on my way!" I can't loving believe it!

Richard sees nothing but red. To think he didn't see through something so simple! The Zentragoths clearly thought little of him. In a fit of rage, he flicks his wrist and snap fires his P3 at the Tukreb before recovering and pushing the power lever past the afterburner detent. If his suspicions are correct (and he believes they are), Richard has some old bones to pick.

The band they were blasting at you is actually banned in the Imperium, as they promote a variety of criminal offences, including but not limited to:
-Arson
-Disorderly Conduct
-Disturbing the Peace
-Inhuman Treatment
-Murder
-Piracy
-Public Intoxication
-Prostitution
-Torture
It is unlikely they were even listening to the music they jammed you with, since they still had to communicate among themselves.

"I owe you one, Gus!"
I hear AWACS's transmission.
"I'm on my way!"

I go to assist AWACS with whatever it needs.

no blockguy
no
that was the carrier speaking
the AWACS has a yellow border, it's an imperial plane
it was the one responsible for jamming you this whole time
unless you're actually a sleeper agent and this is the moment where your true loyalties are revealed, you don't want to go help the AWACS
