Bell locks onto one of the torcreepes and launches a RGM so that both of them will hit each other head on.
The missile streaks ahead, intercepting the torcreep and destroying it before it can hit the carrier.
Frantic radio messages from the carrier fill Gus's hadset. He has no time to observe the Tukreb kill, breaking off and heading towards C. He notices Tourist has somehow managed to get himself into stuff, again. A minor course correction centers his gunsights on Drone 8. Gus pulls the trigger several times, sending a few controlled bursts at the drone's engines. He lets off his last HSM at Drone 11.
The missile blows Drone 11 to smithereens, and the burst of gunfire does some serious damage to 8.
i need to pick up a book sometime
I pop flares, do some sweet turns and evasive maneuvers and try to get on one of the drone's tails. And I try to hit one of the drones with a heatseeker. Preferably 11.
You jink, dodge, duck, and weave everywhere, but the small, nimble drone is able to remain firmly behind you. At least it doesn't get a shot off.
"Can someone get these drones off my tail?"
I let off the stick to try to lower my heat signature.
Merely slowing down is not enough to dissuade the drones or prevent a lock, and both drones open fire. 7 immediately turns to disengage, while 3 remains on your tail.
ok sorry blockguy and Gojira, duty calls
"Covering the torcreepes, I hope this works!"
Walt speeds ahead and Locks on to the far torp from him while also letting a HSM off to engage the near Torcreep, Soon after he sends an AAM after the far torp.
[assuming I'm attacking from the side or 45ish angle of the torcreepes]
The nearer torcreep is taken care of by Shortsword's RGM, and it's unlikely the HSM would have been able to maneuver to hit side-on a target moving as quickly as it was. The AAM just barely manages to intercept the other torcreep in time, neutralizing it within a mere hundred meters of its target.
The growl tone gives way to a shrill squeal as Richard brings the IR seeker to bear over the fleeing Tukreb. He presses the munitions release button. Pshoosh! The last HSM flies off its pylon and moves to intercept the target.
Sparing no time to see whether or not the missile lands, Richard immediately turns around and heads back towards the carrier, burners alight. "Crash, you alright?"
Tukreb-2 drops flares and jinks left, not that you were there to see it. It continues to flee the scene.
Jaakko can be heard shrilling in delight at the fact that he can out run missiles. He noses the aircraft up slowly to avoid running into the ground, and begins a shallow climb. The missiles' engines will die, and they will bleed energy trying to stay with him.
Sure enough, the AAMs give up and drop out of the sky.
No further torcreepes are launched, and the enemy planes are in full retreat. The area appears free of threats, save for the drones.

"forget it."
I fire off an RGM at one of the missiles.
man you had your chance and you blew it
