Author Topic: Unreal Engine out for Free  (Read 4336 times)

I recognize that thing.

OT: Sweet! I was thinking of trying to actually make something moderately interesting one of these years and I was told Unreal was probably one of my best bets due to the level of detail involved and whatnot.
Too bad my computer gets an absolute poot framerate with Unreal.

It's "the boss" from "Revisiting :the game:"

QUICK, MAKE A 3D VERSION OF IT WITH UNREAL

Reading about your problem, downloading it wouldn't be such a good idea. Multiboot PC with F:\ as the local disk.

No idea how to do it. I'll just download it now and wait for my dad to come home. He's much better at computer stuff than I am lol.

I meant to say that, since you can't install it in your external drive, it would be hell for me because my local disk isn't C:\. It's F:\.

you're not good at computers?

you realize the unreal engine uses unreal script right?

or are you just good at programming and not good at computers?

I'm quite good at computers, but not at expert things; or nearly as good as my dad. The main reason I want Unreal is to try it out and see if I want to get into it.

Gooooodbye unity, hello improvements.

But do you know how to code? You realize the engine requires coding experience, right?

-edit-

Sorry, I'll shut up now. I'm an idiot lol

Does it really matter if he knows now? You are aware there's no magical skill gate that requires him to know coding right?

Some people learn better through use, all that matters is if they are aware of their incompetence in the art.

not unreal 4

Oh no, I totally agree with you. I'm just wondering if he knows how to use the engine or is willing to put in the time to learn it. (If he doesn't already.) I just started to learn C# and I know that I'm nowhere near mastery or even the standard for an average programmer. Sorry, both of you guys.

oh and I'm not one of those kind of computer people who are elitist in the way that people who are new to programming can't learn - there really is no "skill gate" likewise

The Unreal Engine uses C#?

For a second there, I almost got a heart attack.

For a second there, I almost got a heart attack.

Of sadness, relief, or fright for humanity on the fact that I stated that it ran on C#, not Unrealscript?

If the coding language it uses is C#, I'm going back to the 90s.
