Author Topic: What are some pretty nice PS2 (AND PSX) games?  (Read 3660 times)

The PS2 can also play PS1 games.
But if you go from playing a ps2 game to a ps1 game the graphics difference will probably make you instantly want to stop playing

armored core gen 2/3
yes

at this point anyone who winces at anything that's not the latest graphics systems wouldn't even be touching a ps2 anyway.

Yeah if the op also wants a list of PS1 I wouldn't mind giving him another huge list and also seeing how cheap you can get some of the games nowadays.

My favorite games were probably like:
Star Wars Battlefront II
Battlefield 2
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter
Burnout Revenge
Seek and Destroy
Road Trip Adventure
In no specific order.
It is a big list, but i liked them all.

Star Wars Battlefront II
Persona 3: FES
Persona 4

Driver 1 and 2.
Both pretty good games.

what
How is the change in graphics going to make you stop playing that much in the first place? That's like saying the change in graphics from the PS4 to the PS2 will make you stop playong the PS2
Driver 1 and 2.
Both pretty good games.

I've heard that the Driver games run better on the PS2? I'm not sure if that's true, but op should still pick these games they're pretty good.

Also I forgot to mention some games from before..
Yakuza and Ico, I've heard many good things about these games.
BOFV Dragon Quarter is more of an acquired taste, it's a pretty underrated rpg, but once you get a hold on the mechanics it's a pretty great game.
Crash WoC is pretty solid platformer and Twinsanity is great modern replication of a the original Crash games even though I wish the game wasn't rushed like it was.
I would advise against getting the PS2 Spyro games, imo they're really boring and don't have the same charm, feel, and great design as the original games. Go for the original games instead.
People say Spyhunter is really good, but I never really got into it.
Choro Q is an decent, but pretty unique little racer. for the system, but it doesn't stack compared to it's prequels Road Trip Adventure and Road Trip Adventure Avenue (Gadget Racers in PAL regions).
Dragonball Z Budokai 3 if your into fighting games.
Also Persona 3 & 4  if you're into RPGs
Get Rez, its like a rhythm game shooter thing, it's a coolio game so get it seeing that you also played frequency.
Also get Burnout 3, when I first got that game I was addicted to it especially the crash mode. Like really it's one of best racing games I've played.

three games on my PS2 that I enjoyed/remember the most:
thrillville off the rails
battlefront II
tony hawk underground 2

armored core gen 2/3

Also don't play Battlefront 1/2 on ps2. They look like donkey richard compared to the xbox versions.

I forgot to mention this, Battlefront is one of those ports where the Xbox version is way better. But otherwise the ports listed in this thread are pretty much the exact same games, except for gtanof course, the Xbox versions were graphically enhanced. If you don't care about that then your good to go mate.

EDIT: Also Op you should get Seek&Destroy, another Choro Q game but this one is based around tanks and stuff and it's really underrated.

Road Trip and Simpsons: Hit and Run. Also Seek & Destroy.

Also Seek & Destroy.
i thought i was the only person here that loves this game

if you haven't already played star wars: battlefront and star wars: battlefront 2, then you're definitely missing out, but those are best played with more then just one person.

PS1 games also work on a PS3.
Allowing requests of PS1 games.
