A software update is uploaded to all existing AI cores that takes full advantage of neuron-structured chip hardware originally developed for the military's AI drones, utilizing an efficient neural network similar to a human's brain. These AI cores have been used inside commercial androids, laboratory assistance systems, government security systems, and AI-controlled vehicles for several years, but the software was simply not there yet. Previous data on these cores has been adapted for the new software overhaul, so no information was lost. Self-improvement behavior has been deliberately limited to learning and adapting to new situations, except for the primary mainframe located in Stockholm for security purposes. The update will not affect anybody outside of the Soviet Scandinavian region since the AI tech has never really been exported in the first place, save for limited deployment as pilot assistance systems in specialized Exoframe models.
