Sorry but no, maybe a track editor but not custom car models support, because I'm pretty sure a lot of people will not respect the style of the cars and it will make out of place normal sized cars for it.
suddenly this game sounds a lot less interesting

This is for the best for the game, or else we would be seeing pretty unfitting car models in the game, it's something similar to high-poly models in Blockland, does that look good? No. Does it fit in the game style? No.

But there will be a stuffload of car bodies and customization, so why does it matter?

The only thing I'd reconsider about your game is your choice of "cute chibi cars". They don't work with what your going for, and generally they look unappealing.

I want a first person camera

That would likely require the development of interiors for every car.

Why? It's open world game with a car that you customize and tune to race why woudn't it work?

And I'm asking why they won't work with what I'm going for, you didn't explained that being unappealing is just a matter of opinion

I want the game to be different and have a unique car style compared to other games, we get realistic sized cars most of the time, what's wrong with being different?

I like the chibi cars

I haven't seen any big title games utilize them recently

And that's exactly why. Yeah, its new, you'll draw some kind of crowd in. It may not be the kind of demographic you want, but at the end of the day, your "competitors" will get the bigger populous because of the model cars appeal. Its a new style, I get it, but its probably not the kind of style EVERYONE ELSE wants.

I don't know there is plenty of people here who liked it, but hey I can't appeal everyone, so why bother? Even if I'd go for the normal sized cars there would still have people who won't like the game, maybe for it's simple graphics style, or the type of handling, the way the racing works, the possible lack of weapons in it, or for not being realistic, you basicly can't make a game where everybody likes without an exception.

I understand your dislike over the car style we're going for but really, I can't please everyone in every single way, we just want it to be more unique, and I'm fairly sure that uniqueness will bring attention from people.

By attempting to please everyone you will please noone.

Best damn logic I've seen all morning.

I can't argue with statistics, but good luck anyway.
