Alright, I'm currently on episode 25. and holy forget.

thank you all.


This show is literally one of the best animated shows (set aside cowboy bebop or samurai champloo), I've ever seen in a loooong time. Noticed in one episode a 2fast4u Sonic figurine, and next to him Cloud from FF7.

And, the episode called "Rose's Room" was definitely a nod to Ben Drowned in my opinion, considering the posture and vibe I got from whatever the girl with glasses name is.

and not to mention in I think either episode 24 or 25 where Steven walks in at the beginning of an episode and Garnet goes "Howdy, Bang" and does a little gun going pew with her fingers, which is like 100% reference to Cowboy Bebop imo. (don't doubt it considering cb used to run on CN also)



just in general, the amount of references and small little hidden things I've been seeing and nods in general are incredible and kinda lets the viewer know, its that kinda show. Not like Family Guy (eaugh) where they just make a bunch of pop culture references, because this is our culture, and I'm glad that it's getting noticed like this.

edit: and as otto noted, there is definitely a bigger plot to the series, and bc of that since episode 1 I've been like scouring all over the environment within the show, and just lordy man. This plot gon be good.

someone convince me to watch this show with reasons other than "it's really good". i was planning on watching it sometime because there must be a reason why people love it so much other than opinions

it comes down to opinion anyway, but the thing that's so engaging to me and many other people is the fantastic story and world building that goes on in both the foreground and the background. the reason why you see such a massive fan theory thing is because the show is specifically designed to make that kind of thing possible. they drop hints at things all over the place that you don't even realise if you aren't looking, and they've been doing it since the beginning of the show. then, suddenly, it all makes sense when it's revealed. it's such a gratifying experience to just wonder and be amazed as the world keeps getting bigger and more real as the show goes on. it's the same kind of thing you get when you play a game like the elder scrolls or read some kind of high fantasy novel, and just get caught up in all the lore of the world. it's so uniquely engaging and immersive, and it's something that isn't common in your average cartoon.

and pretty much every other aspect of the show has that same amount of thought put into it. the show's musical artists are phenomenal at making appropriate music. every character has their own motif that fits them, and when they fuse, the motifs of the involved gems harmonise and blend together beautifully. the art style is charming (imo), every character looks unique, the character design is great, the show has such positive undertones while still exploring serious and sombre subjects.

in short, watch steven universe it's rly good

I'd like to point out that my favorite episode of all time remains to be the two-part episode "The Return/Jailbreak." Unfortunately it's towards the end of season 1 but god damn is it awesome.

why didnt amethyst turn into something that could catch peridot before she flew away
like in cartoons like this one of the character has a chance to ddo something but they never do it and it bugs me

They have to show off how the team has started to fall apart due to a lack of trust. With their actual powers and prowess, they could probably nab Peridot in an instant. But that wouldn't make for a good chase would it?

its true, the characters never end up using the abilities that they've used in previous episodes in situations where they would need them, when peridorito was running up the wall in keeping it together why didn't garnet just jump 100 ft in the air in a single bound like weve seen her do in beach party or do the same thing to escape the trap in friend ship
