Maybe it's because most people are sensible and understand that jokes are meant to be taken to personal offence. Maybe it's because most people understand that jokes are used to clear the air around difficult subjects, so that people might actually discuss them seriously and without bias instead of only reflecting only positively/negatively on the experience. Maybe it's because people realise the need for others to lighten up, given that we live in difficult, depressing times.

Dark Humour is humour based around sensitive subjects. That might include death, but it can also include things such as natural disasters, the future of robotics, people's personal lives etc. It's entirely about trying to get people to open up on a subject instead of being one-sided.

If, politically, you are of the belief that such jokes promote the marginalization of minorities, your race does not matter, because it's a political belief you hold. Also, if you have a lot of black friends/family then I imagine you wouldn't be okay with tribal jokes either. In these ways, your race is not necessarily a factor.
