Well Jackson was the democrat to be voted in as president. The same democrat party that supported slavery segregation, the same democrat party that Obama is in. Isn't that some irony.
Jackson was no where close to a good president. At the time he was a pretty popular guy, he was considered the people's president. He invaded Spanish territory to fight some Seminoles, and convinced the next president to put his Indian removal act into progress. Not a good guy.
Our nation has a dirty history, all nations have one. Acknowledge the past, learn from it and move it.

What gives you the right to preach for an entire people? Do you speak for me, do you speak for cappytino? I have grandparents who are native americans. A lot of people pull the native card, most of them had a great grand parent decended for some person who decided to lay or get laid by a native on the trail of tears, yet they have no cultural connection to the tribe which just means they are white people.
Another thing to note is that there are very few full bloods left. If you go to any reservation, you will find very light skin people.
One more thing. Many tribes also owned black slaves. There were bands of Cherokees that fought for the CSA.
