gotta agree with that last tweet. the doom thing was a bit tasteless.

They're demons from Hell, who the forget cares about how gruesome it is. I have a problem with gore when its humans (see: Hatred).

Hatred isn't even that bad, try postal 2 i ran around burning people alive and trying to get an achievement where i have to chop a person limbs off and keep them alive.

isnt doom supposed to be like a 'horror' game though? cant wait for anita to go after the Saw franchise next

PFFFFT

no, Doom 3 'tried' to be a 'horror' game but failed so hard.

That's the thing. I don't really care about gore. The gameplay they showed was kinda bland. The execution system was kinda cool i guess? it just felt like violence for the sake of violence.

executions are meh
if they were completely optional with absolutely no benefit other than looking cool they'd be ok
but you're clearly invulnerable during them and demons are literally loving health-and-ammo pinatas (most likely so the level designers can continue being stuff at their job)

the difference between postal 2* and hatred is in hatred the entire point of the game is to kill as many innocent civilians as possible, and in postal 2* (the one you're talking about) it's to complete a set of menial tasks in a city where everyone infuriates you so much that you actually want to kill them. There is a distinction to be made, but I'm not trying to say that hatred deserves to be banned or something.

only in postal 2 tho

the first postal is exactly the same as hatred without the hilarious monologuing

you're right on that one, forgot to put in the 2. sorry bout that

lmao I saw the edit before you posted and I thought you were being hella passive-aggressive

also doom still looks like crap etc etc

Hatred may be murdering innocent people yeah but it's not very violent and there isn't really any sense of "oh god what have i done". yeah people in postal 2 piss me off to the point where i kill them but burning people alive then killing their family hits harder in that than in hatred.

I'll be making a video on this since I have pretty strong feelings about Anita.

Games should be able to have whatever the forget the creator wants to put in them. Who cares what the game has, the real question is if what it has makes it good. Hatred didn't suck because of the Flash Mob, it sucked because a controversy built it more hype than its gameplay (lacking), story (absent), artistic message (lol), and every other aspect combined could live up to.

And I'm glad Sarkeesian has spoken out against the violent nature of Doom. Maybe after she's done undermining her own credibility people will start to realize a lot of the other stuff she says is bullstuff too.

the only thing offensive about doom was how boring it looked
