Author Topic: New Road Bricks Concept [ALIVE]  (Read 14171 times)

Instead of making multiple copies of the same brick with different patterns how about making them print-bricks and the prints are the patterns? It would save on file size and allow for customization.

Nice idea, but I considered print bricks before this newest iteration and I decided it would just require to many prints.  It would save on brickcount considerably, but it would make the print list too long to be useful.  The current system has the best combination of brickcount usage, brick amount, and usability (by which I mean the ability to select the brick from the brick menu - still working on making brick placement better).

If anyone else has any other ideas, I'm open to suggestions.  I also briefly thought about trying to use static shape generation or whatever the newest elevator mod used, but that would be annoying to use, though probably better brickcount-wise.

No it won't die don't worry.

man those roads are a lot nicer than i thought they would turn out to be

Don't die bb, I'll get back to you soon!

Welp, after more than a month, I had some free time to work on this.  No more than an hour, and nothing to show, only cleaning everything up, organizing and so on.  Just bumping to say this is not dead, my 17 credit schedule is screwing me miserably.

This still isn't dead right?

Hopefully not; we just need to keep this topic alive for progress.

I really hope you don't abandon this or anything; I was really looking forward to these bricks.

I don't think it's abandoned; look at the title.

I swear it isn't dead.  My engineering CAD has taken over my life.  I will absolutely get back to this as soon as I can.

No offense but the only way for you to prove that is not dead, is by showing an update on the add-on other than saying "guys it's not dead, I did nothing new on it but believe me" you better of saying that it's on hold until you get your stuff together and get some time to develop your add-on more.

I, for one, am not at all annoyed to have it confirmed that he hasn't forgotten about it, rather than hearing nothing and being left wondering about it forever, like a pack of buses
