i generally do it on the second try to be safe
I think it makes sense to do the bracket stuff at any point
I do it last so that I'll get the most chances I can, if one of them is a refill. if I none of them are, it adds to the suspense for the last pick ;3 (at least, it did before fallout 4)
doing it first would have the advantage of not worrying about whether or not you get a refill, but having all the duds removed before you even start picking words
and anywhere between is just a little of both

I finally found Curie and she is indeed the best companion
It makes me feel bad that I romanced Piper and Cait and MacCready before her

I'd like a mod that allows instant lockpicking at the cost of 1 bobbypin. We all have like 200 anyway.

There was one in New Vegas and the lockpicking was all done in real time too.

Wtf I was in [spoiler]the institute and I had a really stealthy build (leather shadowed armor, U.S Covert operations manual, sneak perk rank 4) and I convinced Dr. Li to rejoin the BoS. I decided to stealthily kill everyone in the institute which I did except Father. I go up to the elevator, thinking I killed the entire institute until I get to the teleport area and low and behold, about 60 synth patrollers are in the room. I wasted like 11/12 frag grenades and many shotgun shells and 2 stimpaks

.h.ttp://xboxdvr.com/gamer/DisablingBox18/video/13099720 remove the dot between the h and t for the vid link cause it wouldn't be transparent.

All settlers are immortal during attacks so you can give them a tooth pick to fight with and they will be fine.

Paladin Buzz Lightyear best companion
dogmeat is a good 2nd tho

Charisma/Luck character is going pretty well, though I recently realized pacifying things doesn't actually give me any exp and it only works on lower level enemies that I wouldn't have any trouble killing so I'm not sure what the point is

It probably gets more useful as I level up the perk but right now I basically just use it to hear my character shout "calm down, starfish!" before taking some cheap shots at my victim
It's interesting, but yeah, a little disappointing that you don't get experience from it, nor can you do it on higher-levelled enemies.

However, at the second tier of those perks, you can incite the pacified enemy to attack.
They will begin to attack anything around them, generally. Which can be a little difficult if you're on a quest with a temporary companion, like the Bobbi No-Nose quest.

But it's nice to watch a Mirelurk fight a Mirelurk. And I can't wait until I can get a Super Mutant or a Raider to attack his allies.

Apparently the third tier lets you give them commands, like a companion, including to follow you. So you get an extra companion, although a mortal one.
But I don't know if this is true. That's just what I heard off of Reddit.
And they were talking about the Robotics Perk, which I believe acts the same way as Intimidate, but on Robots. I don't have it though to be sure, and its description is more vague, just saying you "hack the robot".

What the forget? So I've been wasting gear on them? loving Bethesda.

I think it's like companions with fighting, get knocked out during a raid and be knocked out for the rest of the raid, only coming back up when it is over.

The faster they kill an attack the less of your stuff is destroyed.

I love the robotics perk. You get an option to hack a robot while sneaking on it, you enter your pipboy, then use it like a terminal basically.

Oh, nice.
I definitely need to put a few more points into Intelligence in order to get that perk then.
Although at the moment I'm trying to put points into Perception, to get Lockpicking, and maybe Demolitions Expert.

I also now have Rank 2 of Intimidation, which makes it quite fun to pacify an enemy and have him shoot his allies. Especially if you've just heard him having a pleasant conversation with them. I like to imagine he cries as he does my bidding.

One peculiarity of Rank 2 for those perks however, is that the range at which you get the option to "incite" an enemy to attack, is significantly shorter than the range from which you can pacify them.
So sometimes you can pacify an enemy on the other side of the room, but you can't incite him without running out of your cover and over towards him.

The faster they kill an attack the less of your stuff is destroyed.
Or they could just die.

The Museum of Witchcraft and Wizardry sounded like an awesome place to go to but instead I was greeted by this forgeter.
