I wonder if it really IS cryostasis tho. Maybe this was one of the experimental vaults that was experimenting in anti-aging drugs or something. That would be cool. Did they say it was cryostasis?
the main character told his robot he'd been "asleep" for 200 years so i'm guessing

The vaults weren't meant for goofy experiments though.
how were super mutants made then huh??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? fev

i was talking about east coast super mutants as proof that they did more than social experiments.

Ehhh I guess but Bethesda forgeted with a lot of the lore from the previous games so.

They were designed for social experimentation, no?
Van Buren states that 17 or vaults were actual bomb shelters, the rest were just there to see how humanity would do in isolation. The experiments weren't stupid things like "lets flood the air with rage inducing narcotics and see what happens" or forcing FEV onto people, or playings subliminal songs over and over, or make violent clones of a guy name Gary.

True I suppose.

but theoretically, wouldn't there have to be many, many bombs dropped to cause the world to be in a nuclear holocaust? i mean tsar bomba's blast radius is barely a fraction of the united states.
yep, that's why in the trailer they say "Nuclear detonations confirmed in X and Y" and then a nuke falls on your city.

They were, actually. Many were, at least. For example, vault 87 tested the creation of super humans (which became super mutants, and is the breeding ground of them). Many of the vaults were used to test drugs and for psychological experiments.

I think sometimes I have to remind myself that Fallout 3 is cannon.

Fallout 4 is basically everything I've wanted in a Fallout game.

I'm too hyped now
I wonder how much that collectors edition will be because I am seriously interested in a pipboy along with this amazing looking game
