Amazing how Fallout 4 has proper lighting even after you set all the settings to their lowest.

forget off, dude.

I have to go all the way to the main city to get a good gun??
No, you can always scavenge a good gun but it takes some play-time to do it lol. The city is not that hard of an expedition and it gives you access to the merchants there. I rarely come across any wandering caravans to bother looking at the wares. If your lockpick skill is high enough you can raid the national guard armory maybe.

god I actually feel bad that people who haven't played the game are going to see this and legitimately think that's how it looks

Solution: Flood youtube with videos of good looking fallout 4 vs crysis footage.

Nobody is surprised. FO4 is made on Skyrim's engine.

Isn't it a little more advanced or is it the exact same version as Skyrims engine?

Different branch, and significantly improved.

I don't understand how that's related

It would be advanced
No reason to use the exact same engine unless your Activision

speaking of cool things, i found a 10mm pistol with unlimited capacity. Probably not that rare but my mind was blown that you can find a legendary weapon like that. Of course i burned through all my 10mm ammo lol...

It's still the same engine. Both Skyrim and FO4 are compiled in the same methods, sharing assets, such as the well noted 'clipboard shield' bug.
The creation engine is already poorly optimized for certain processes. The only reason why Oblivion, Fallout 3 and Fallout: NV were considered 'well optimized' is because they used graphics that were, at the time, good.

Essentially, Fallout 4 is built on an 'improved' branch of the original engine used to produce Morrowind. Although many engine related functions have been spiced up to meet the demand of next-gen consoles, it's still unacceptable that they haven't completely redesigned the engine by now.

I don't understand how that's related
Fallout 4 is running on an inferior engine that has been occasionally updated to reach the standards. The core functions used in the engine are about 13 years old.

Considering the numerous pages on why the game is bugged in several instances, i'm puzzled why you'd ask how it's related.

I'm gonna be honest, the concept of a fallout game that looks good feels incredibly foreign

what does that have to do with people thinking an image designed to make the game look as stuffty as possible is real?

or are you just randomly replying to posts now to continue stuffting on the game?
