I found the comments from that being posted on reddit quite useful too, three things I had no idea of:

• Alcohol increases carry capacity
• Cooked radstag meat adds +25 carry weight
• Armour with pockets increase carry capacity

Alcohol has always raised carry weight
+1 strength

I put Deep Pocketing on every armor piece I could because I never had space to pick anything up

Then I decided to start wearing Power Armor instead so I put the increased carry capacity mods on both legs
